Thanks to its frequency range that goes from 20Hz to 20kHz, the professional Rode PodMic captures voices at all frequencies within the normal range of human hearing and delivers a well-balanced, rich sound that is ideal for broadcasting. The PodMic features a dynamic capsule with a cardioid polar pattern, an XLR output for connecting a cable, and an elegant matt black all-metal housing with generous dimensions of 172x109x62mm, which means that this end-address microphone is on the heavier side with a total weight of 937g. The Rode PodMic can not only be variably adjusted to the speaker's height using the built-in swing mount but also flexibly mounted on a wide range of conventional stands thanks to its integrated 5/8" and 3/8" threads.

The easy way to podcast

For optimum voice recording, the Rode PodMic should be mounted on an optional microphone stand or studio arm. To this end, users should take a closer look at the Rode PSA-1 boom arm, which creates an authentic broadcast studio setting, or the Rode Tripod, which ensures ideal positioning and stability on a tabletop. Both solutions allow the microphone to be swivelled a full 360 degrees and can be purchased separately. To kick off their first podcast production, all users have to do is connect the PodMic to a mixing console or an audio interface such as the Rode Podcaster Pro using an XLR cable, speak into the microphone, adjust the gain, and turn up the volume.

Degelijke microfoon voor goede prijs; bang for your buck.

Voor de prijs is de Rode PodMic een degelijke solide microfoon. Ik heb hem aangesloten op een Behringer UMC204HD Audio-interface en ben daarmee goed en duidelijk verstaanbaar. Wel heeft de microfoon behoorlijk wat gain nodig, waardoor het aan te raden is een audio-interface met goede pre-amp (en weinig noise) of naast de audio-interface een aparte pre-amp, zoals een FetHead, of (nog beter) een microfoon-processor als de DBX 286 S aan te schaffen. De microfoon klinkt met één van deze producten erbij net zo goed als of zelfs beter dan de duurdere microfoons. Voor diezelfde prijs heb je dan vaak ook alleen nog maar die duurdere microfoon zelf, zonder audio-interface en eventuele accessoires.

Met de Rode PodMic in combinatie met de hierboven beschreven accessoires kun je qua prijs/kwaliteit niet veel beter krijgen.

Ik had deze RODE Podcast Micro aangeschaft vanwege uiterlijk en de Merknaam, RODE.
Dat moet wel goed zijn, zo dacht ik. Moet ook goed klinken natuurlijk...
Eerst dacht ik dat het een aanbieding was, voor de helft van de prijs.
Maar het is gewoonweg een zeer betaalbare super-micro.
Niet zo zeer voor zang, maar héél goed en speciaal voor spraak, dus podcasts en streamen.
En ik dacht er fantoomvoeding voor te moeten gebruiken en zo ook een popfilter en shockmounth. Maar dat alles is overbodig met dit model.
Er zit reeds een degelijk pop filter ingebouwd en zo ook een shockmounth. Erg handig.
Ik gebruik ze met de Superlux HM6 - tafel-standaard. Lekker voordelig en staat niks in de weg, beter dan die hengels enzo.
Heb inmiddels een 2e set aangeschaft.
Topspul, én zeer betaalbaar !
Voor de prijs van 1 set, heb je met deze mooie, én zéér betaalbare Merk-Podcast-Micro, 3 sets !!!
(ik kocht een RODE podcast micro van een goeie 90 euro en daarbij de Superlux tafelstandaard, redelijk zwaar, voordelig, robuust en handig, 10 euro ongeveer en een XLR kabel van 2m dacht ik. 110,10 euro totaal. En dat is 'géén geld', voor goede spullen !

Was al heel lang op zoek naar een goeie productie microfoon. Ideaal voor stem en zangwerk in de studio. Zonder al te veel gedoe. En met de robuustheid van Rode, moet het zeker wel goed komen.
