A fully-fledged kit at an affordable price

The Millenium MPS-150 is a compact electronic drum set with over 100 drum and percussion sounds, ten stylistically diverse preset drum kits, and 40 play-along songs for drummers to jam to. In order to save space, a stable aluminium rack holds the module as well as the drum and cymbal pads. The design of the MPS-150 is aimed at novice drummers, with its configuration corresponding to that of kits from established brands. The accompanying Millenium DM-30 Drum Monitor is specifically designed to amplify electronic drum sounds, so it's the perfect partner for the MPS-150. Its space-saving two-way coaxial system comes in a solidly made wooden housing, and the two drivers are powered by a 30-watt power amplifier: This gives the speaker more than enough volume for use at home or in a small to medium-sized rehearsal room. In addition to the active monitor and connection cable, the Monitor Bundle also contains a drum stool and a pair of drumsticks.

Suited to all styles

Weighing just 18kg, the Millenium MPS-150 drum kit comes with four drum pads and a kick pad – all fitted with rubber playing surfaces – as well as two cymbals and a hi-hat pad. With this standard configuration, every imaginable style of music is possible. A conventional foot pedal, just like those found in acoustic drum sets, is used to play the kick pad. The 108 internal sounds include acoustic and electronic drum sounds, as well as a large selection of other percussion instruments, covering all genres from Rock, Pop, Metal, and Jazz to Electro, R&B, and Latin. In addition to its drum inputs, the Millenium DM-30 Drum Monitor additionally features a connection for playback devices such as smartphones and MP3 players, and separate volume controls are also provided to allow the drum and playback sounds to be mixed easily. Finally, the monitor's three-band EQ section, with controls for bass, mid, and treble, lets the user optimise the resulting sound to suit the environment.

Not just a beginners' bundle

Aspiring drumming talents of all ages – but also experienced drummers looking for a reasonably priced kit for practising at home or developing or recording ideas – will find the Millenium MPS-150 to be just the right tool for them. In addition to rehearsing silently with headphones, drummers can also let others listen to their playing thanks to the active monitor included in this bundle. The kit features a MIDI interface and can also be connected to a computer via USB, and the rubber pads offer a comfortable rebound that is neither too soft nor too hard. What is more, the player's feet can also enjoy an authentic playing feel by using a pad/pedal combination for the bass drum. Despite its low weight, the kit is very stable on its aluminium feet, so it will easily stand up to even heavy use.

But this kit isn't just for Rock: Fans of Hip-Hop, Funk, Jazz, House, R&B, and many other musical genres will also find what they are looking for among the 40 play-along songs. The already excellent sound quality can be further upgraded by means of a built-in reverb effect. The DM-30 Drum Monitor is also well suited for home use, as it's best used in small rooms and at moderate volume levels. In larger rooms or at higher volumes, however, we recommend combining it with a PA system.
