The perfect start

As its name clearly suggests, a "combo" amp is one that combines both the amplifier and speaker(s) in a single unit. The Harley Benton HB-20B has such compact dimensions, measuring in at 380 x 340 x 175mm (less than 15" square), that it will fit under every table or in a gap on a bookshelf. And because it weighs just 7kg, even quite young bassists will find it easy to carry. Its 20W power output, coming from an 8" speaker, generates plenty of sound for playing at home or jamming with a guitarist and alongside the volume control, the internal three-band EQ (with bass, mid, and treble controls) gives players the chance to find their own individual sound. And at the touch of a button, a compressor can be activated that will tame unwanted level peaks, helping to protect the speaker.

Prima geluid, mindere kwaliteit

Ik heb de versterker nu iets meer dan een week. Het geluid is prima. Maar de kwaliteit van de connectoren laat zeer te wensen over. Vooral de hoofdtelefoon uitgang en de aux ingang zijn slecht. Ze lijken zelfs wat los te zitten (ze kunnen bewegen en dat lijkt me niet wenselijk). Gelukkig gebruik ik het niet vaak en om te oefenen gaat prima. De versterker doet wat ik verwacht had voor het geld, maar laat dus nog wel te wensen over.

Krachtig en betrouwbaar

Een zeer goeie bass amp voor thuis of tijdens een jam session. De kwaliteit voor dit soort amp is uitstekend, en gaat lang mee. De amp zelf is makkelijk te bedienen, en ook flexibel, dus je kan het makkelijk over meenemen.

Ik raad deze amp aan voor anderen beginnende bassisten.

Het geluid heeft geen stevige bas, hij heeft net niet genoeg power om een lekkere beetje brommende bas sound te creëren.
Voor de prijs komt er prima geluid uit. Maar toch is het niet een aanrader, je kan beter iets meer geld investeren in een betere versterker van een ander merk met een hoger wattage.

Ben blij met de 3-bands equalizer, alle regelaars doen wat ze moeten doen
Geluid klinkt goed en is makkelijk te bedienen
Aanrader om alle equalizer af te stellen (beginnend met alle regelaars op 5) door je telefoon via een aux-kabel te verbinden en via adapt sound met de gehoortest
Vervolgens kun je de gewenste equalizer keer die verhouding doen voor het gewenste geluid
