Lightweight 19" stereo guitar power amp

Gone are the days of lugging around heavy guitar power amplifiers - and we can be thankful for it. Modern Class D power amps pack an enormous amount of power into a lightweight package - and the Harley Benton GPA-400 stereo guitar power amp is no exception. With dual outputs each delivering 200 watts of power at four ohms, this powerhouse comes in a 19"/1 HU rack format and is the ideal solution for guitarists and bassists who are looking to make their rig powerful enough to always be heard, but want to save their energy for the stage rather than wasting it transporting their gear. Each channel features independent controls for resonance and presence as well as dedicated indicator LEDs for signal and peak, so a full parameter overview is ensured at all times. What is more, the GPA-400's robust 19" chassis weighs in at a mere 3 kg, so it can be easily transported without putting your back out.

Plenty of power for your rack

With an output of 400 watts in mono bridge mode and 200 watts in stereo mode and covering a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, the GPA-400 is a real workhorse, and it provides the perfect solution for powering either a single cab on its own or two cabs in a stereo setup. Each channel has a dedicated two-band EQ with a resonance control for bass and a presence control for treble, which lets you make final tweaks to the signal coming from your preamp, pedal board, or multi-effects unit and get the sound you want from the speakers connected. Both channels also have their own indicator LEDs for peak and signal to allow you to visually monitor the incoming signal, and the front panel feature a mute switch to allow complete silence when you are not playing. The GPA-400 also operates without mechanical noise, as there is no internal fan to start getting on your nerves.

THE power amp for stereo rig users on a tight budget

Players who use guitar rigs like the Kemper modelling amp series or Axe FX Fractal systems will find the GPA-400 to be a very interesting alternative to significantly more costly units. Ik ben onder de indruk!

TL;DR: krachtige poweramp, licht van gewicht met een stevig en vol geluid.

Na de afgelopen jaren veel gedoe te hebben gehad met diverse buizenversterkers, schafte ik in 2014 gehaast een Tech21 FlyRig5 aan. Ik had nog een T-Amp E-400 poweramp liggen. Dit bleek een goede, betrouwbare combinatie. Geen storingen meer en een puik geluid uit mijn twee Marshall 1912 speakerkasten.

Na ongeveer een jaar begon ik toch wat te missen in mijn sound en na wat zoekwerk stuitte ik op de Harley Benton GPA-400. Heel veel vermogen voor weinig geld.

Ik gebruik de GPA-400 in bridge mode (mono) met de Presence en Resonance knoppen in de middelse positie (12 uur): mijn geluid is dieper en tegelijkertijd helderder geworden. Alsof er een deken van mijn versterker werd gehaald.

De GPA-400 kan niet eenvoudiger in gebruik zijn: 1 kabel vanuit een preamp er in, 1 of 2 kabels naar je speakerkasten er uit en klaar is kees.

Ik heb na mijn FlyRig5 nog een EHX LPB-1 als volumeboost bij solo's: de versterker gaat er perfect mee om.

De poweramp heeft voldoende vermogen voor oefensessies en optredens, is zeer licht van gewicht en bovendien passief gekoeld - hij wordt nauwelijks warm.

Op de lange termijn zal de betrouwbaarheid natuurlijk nog moeten blijken, maar tot nog toe ben ik zeer onder de indruk!

Prima Harley Benton GPA-400

Deze versterker doet precies weergeven wat je erin duwt. Heel eerlijk apparaat, mits je de toneregeling neutraal hebt gezet. Je geluid wordt niet negatief of positief gekleurd. Mocht je in een ruimte komen waar je je basisgeluid toch iets moet aanpassen kun je wat meer midlaag/laag erin draaien of meer midhoog/hoog. (of minder natuurlijk).
400 watt is meer dan genoeg, in stereo 2X200 watt. Voor dit geld een super versterker. Ik gebruik 'm voor mijn Mooer GE300 als eindtrap.

Geweldige poweramp

Ik gebruik een geweldige preamp van een zeer bekend amerikaans merk. De bijbehorende poweramp heeft hetzelfde gewicht als een halve koe. Dat ga ik dus niet iedere keer meesjouwen.

De poweramp van Harley Benton bleek een geweldige oplossing. Goede sound, prettig gewicht en werkt altijd!

eerlijk, ik had het jaren geleden al moeten doen,ik speel in een hardrockband(Deafcon) met dubbele stack ,Bugera 1960 infinium, game over met modeler Zoom gn5 en deze GPA400 is mijn geluid zelfs verbeterd, en geen gesjouw meer met U2 case van Thomann erbij om alles veilig te transporteren ,ga ik een gig gaan doen met mijn Berlingo ,en sparen wij een roadie uit ,is dat niet mooi
