For some, they’re just noisy wooden boxes, for others they are the Holy Grail of guitar tone: We are of course talking about speaker cabinets equipped with the legendary Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. There's hardly a guitarist who hasn't encountered these speakers at some point, or at the very least heard about them. Some enthusiasts might have even entertained the idea of building their own. However, it's not that simple, as a Vintage 30 sounds only as good as the cabinet it's housed in! In this regard, Harley Benton delivers the whole package with the G212 Celestion V30 - and demonstrates that an excellent cabinet, crafted from modern materials, can also be genuinely affordable.

Solid wood - no chipboard

The Harley Benton G212 Celestion V30 features, as its name implies, a pair of Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, providing 120W of power with an impedance of 8 ohms. In stereo mode, it delivers 2x60 watts at 2x16 ohms. The 12" (30cm) Celestion Vintage 30 is iconic in rock music, known for its versatile sound on countless recordings. The cabinet, measuring 52x74x30cm, is in a "landscape" format, and provides ample space for the Vintage 30s to breathe comfortably. Constructed from robust 18mm poplar plywood covered with black Tolex, the cabinet maintains an acceptable weight of 25kg. With its sleek black exterior, matching front covering, and white decorative trim, the G212 Celestion V30 boasts an authentic look well worthy of display!

Combo or head - choose your weapons!

Thanks to its dimensions, the Harley Benton G212 Celestion V30 is often associated with certain British-style tube heads, as they will sit perfectly on it. Of course, the G212 Celestion V30 will perform equally well with any other amp head or large combo driving two 12" speakers, which creates a notably thicker bass response as a result of the wider surface vibration. Moreover, the G212 Celestion V30's reliable, time-tested design and industry-standard speakers meet the highest professional demands and can handle the most intense stage use. Two Harley Benton G212 Celestion V30 cabinets can of course be combined to create a powerful half-stack on stage, which is much easier to handle and transport than a 4x12" cabinet.

Make it loud!

Rehearsal rooms and stages are the preferred habitats of the Harley Benton G212 Celestion V30. When paired with a 2x12" combo, it will will deliver sufficient volume to hold its own alongside even the loudest of drummers. However, users must always pay particular attention to the impedance, especially when using tube combos such as the Twin Reverb. On stage, these cabs are often stacked in pairs, to great visual effect, and driven by a single amp head - generally, a single combo will suffice. For optimum sound dispersion, it is recommended to position the cabinet in a slightly elevated position, especially in the rehearsal room if there is no mic on the speaker.

Uitstekende vervanger voor mijn oude 4x12 Marshall 1960A

Ik gebruik hem in combinatie met mijn Marshall JCM900.

Ik heb jaren een oude Marshall 1960A 4x12 cabinet met Celestion G12-65's gebruikt waar ik heel blij mee was, maar wilde iets wat makkelijker is met vervoer en minder zwaar. Ik heb een tijdje een 2e hands 2x12 Marshall 1922 gehad, qua vervoer ideaal, maar door de (te) ondiepe kast net niet een lekker geluid. Prima voor thuis en de oefenruimte, maar niet voor live. Dus toch een 'normale' 2x12 nodig. Maar de goeie, zoals een Marshall 1936 bijvoorbeeld, zijn niet goedkoop.

Na veel reviews en vergelijkingsvideo's op YouTube gekeken te hebben besloten toch de Harley Benton G212 Vintage te proberen. Absoluut geen spijt van, alleen dat ik hem niet eerder heb besteld, vanwege de recente prijsstijging.

Het cabinet oogt en voelt erg degelijk en stevig en doet vind ik niet onder voor duurdere vergelijkbare cabinetten. Het enige wat misschien wat goedkoop oogt is het speakerdoek, dat glimt net iets te hard en voelt plastic-erig.

Ik heb zelf nooit V30's gehad, maar het cabinet klinkt erg lekker en doet absoluut niet onder voor mijn oude Marshall 4x12 of de Marshall 1936 2x12 van de andere gitarist.

Zeer tevreden met mijn aankoop.

Voor 200 euro een 2x12 met V30's? Jazeker!

In mijn zoektocht naar een leuke 2x12 cab kwam ik op youtube een filmpje tegen waar de HBG212 Vintage aangeraden werd als best bang for your buck cabinet en tot op heden heb ik er geen enkel moment spijt van gehad dat ik deze gekocht heb!

Het geluid wat uit de G212 Vintage komt is absoluut te vergelijken met dat van de vele male duurdere cabinetten en deze kan dan ook op tegen bijvoorbeeld de ENGL, Mesa en Orange cabinetten maar toch voor een fractie van de prijs!

Hij heeft strak laag en een gecontroleerd hoog en is ook heel gemakkelijk door welke top dan ook aan te sturen. Hij klinkt niet donker maar juist helder en kan misschien voor sommige net een sprankeltje teveel hoog bevatten.

De afwerking is subliem en hij is heel netjes afgewerkt, het enige nadeel vind ik de handvatten die soms bij een lange wandel naar het podium een beetje zeer gaan doen aan je polsen.

Uitstekende 2x12 cabinet met celestions, inmiddels zijn de speakers lekker ingespeeld, en klinken nog mooier.

I've been using this cab for recording and rehearsels and it absolutely blew me away. The cab provides a full, clear and solid tone with a powerfull low end that gives you the "oomph" you are looking for.
The stereo input is also a great feature when using stereo effects.
It is built pretty sturdy so there is no problem taking it on the road.
The only downside for me is that it doesn't have wheels, but you can put these on yourself.
