Powerful sound for stereo setups

With its two integrated 100W Class-D power amps, true stereo design, and independently adjustable channels, the Harley Benton G212A-FR active cabinet is aimed at more demanding setups built around modelling amps and multi-effects processors. Rather than simply scaling up its smaller sibling, the G112A-FR, the 212 shifts towards a different approach: two separate signal paths that can be used together as a stereo system or independently of one another. Inside the solid, semi-closed cabinet, two 12" speakers each work alongside their own 1" high-frequency driver. This two-way configuration delivers a solid, punchy low end while adding clarity and detail in the upper frequencies – particularly when working with digital cab simulations, impulse responses, and stereo effects, where spatial depth and finer detail play a more important role. The input signal can also be adapted accordingly, depending on whether a single source or a true stereo feed is being used.

Making full use of stereo

Most modelling amps and multi-effects units go far beyond traditional amp sounds, and stereo effects such as delays, reverbs, or dual-amp setups are often a key part of modern guitarists' preferred sound. This is exactly where the G212A-FR comes into its own. With two separate channels, the signal structure stays intact rather than being summed internally, so none of that detail gets lost. Each channel can be addressed individually and shaped via its own presence and resonance controls. In practice, this doesn't just make it possible to fine tune a stereo signal, but also gives musicians the option of running different signal paths or two instruments in parallel in a shared rig. At the same time, differences in a spatial effect's low-end response or high-frequency detail can be balanced more precisely.

Hear and be heard

Whether it's a Headrush pedalboard, a Line 6 Helix, any of the Boss multi-effects units, a Fractal Axe-FX, or a Kemper system, the G212A-FR is designed to amplify setups like these with both power and clarity, even at higher levels. The combination of integrated amplification and a straightforward control layout means there's no need for additional gear, while still allowing for flexibility as requirements change. The separate power amps provide enough headroom to keep things controlled at professional working volumes without compromising sound quality. Still, LEDs for signal and peak on both channels make it easy to keep track of levels and avoid unwanted clipping. Thanks to its angled cabinet design, the G212A-FR can also be positioned as a floor monitor when required – particularly useful when a stereo signal needs to be heard clearly on stage.

About Harley Benton

Since 1998, the Harley Benton brand has been catering for the needs of numerous guitarists and bassists. In addition to an extensive range of stringed instruments, Thomann's house brand also offers a wide choice of amplifiers, speakers, effect pedals, and other accessories. In total, the range includes over 1,500 products. Built by established names in the industry, all Harley Benton products combine quality and reliability at attractive and affordable prices. The continuous expansion of the range ensures that Harley Benton always provides new, exciting, and innovative products that keep players perfectly in tune with the musical world, day after day.

A very flexible FRFR

Thanks to its stereo signal path and broad frequency range, the G212A-FR isn't limited to guitar or bass rigs – keyboards, synths, and other line-level sources also benefit from its clear and well-defined audio reproduction. In these contexts, the separate channels and tone-shaping options are especially useful, for example when handling multiple sound sources within a single setup. At the same time, with its size and a weight of around 22.5kg, it's clearly not a compact cabinet, but one intended for a more fixed position in a rehearsal space or as a monitor or PA reinforcement on stage. For integration into in larger setups like these, the XLR inputs and outputs are ideal: A monitor mix can be fed in, the signal can be passed through separately, or routed directly to a mixing desk without the need for additional processing.

Nice and loud
Teun d'n beun 26.05.2025
Let me start by saying this amp is pretty good bang for buck. It is crazy loud to the point where your ears hurt. Simple layout, but that's the whole idea of frfr. The only thing I don't like about it are the two tone knobs, presence and resonance. They are there for dialling in more or less treble and bass, but I'm not sure in which position they are neutral. In the middle position lt doesn't sound neutral to me. Compared to what I hear when I play through my studio monitors this amp sound pretty dull/dark in the middle position. So I try to match the sound to my monitors so I won't adjust any settings of my modelers, which are uafx Lion and Dream 65 by the way. Make sure to match the output levels of your presets , otherwise you might get blasted away upon changing preset. It's LOUD!
Oh and i got a free additional Power cord for UK outlets with my amp, which is of no use if you live in the Netherlands.

Update: I tried it in the rehearsal room playing heavy 90's rock, it holds its own. Really powerful!
Yet I found another thing i don't like; the line outs are affected by volume and tone controls, which make these useless for live situations. Especially volume should not be affected in my opinion. If i wanted to raise my stage volume, the front of house will receive a louder signal aswell. Also i want the FOH to receive the unaffected sound i send from my amp modeler. The tone adjustment on the amp might only be useful for monitoring corrections and do not shape the sound in a very flattering way. Now i still need a DI to send the signal to FOH. A little dissapointing IMO

US customer-Very happy with my FRFR active cab.
benjamman 19.05.2021
I'm in the US, so I had to get a voltage converter. But that was a $30 addition for an industrial strength option. My Helix LT sounds great through this cab. I haven't had to adjust any of my "recording" patches at all. Having some tone control on the cab is a great feature too for fine tuning in live settings. I've read others voice concern over the 90 Hz low end spec. Trust me, it's plenty beefy and breaths like a guitar cab! What a great value, when the next closest competitor to this is well over $1k for a stereo FRFR guitar cab. I think I'll pick another one up to use as a fill for the other side of the stage at some venues, and just as a backup. It's inexpensive enough to do that.

Quality!
Kim Christiansen 22.03.2023
I have made good money from playing guitar for 30 years.

I have a lot of equipment.

I am going to sell my fender Hot rod deluxe3.

It is that good.

My new rig is AT 5, a really good Steinberg audiocard, a powerful small laptop, a Behringer fcb 1010 and this Harley Benton

People saying that it is not "moving air" ?
That is just not true. This thing is loud as Hell if you want it to
And that 90 hz bass cut? NP because it is not cutting there.. that is where the bass slope starts to be noticed. This thing is "beefy" trust me

Alll in all after really trying to dive into this package for 12 hours!

For the money there is nothing better.

This and Amplitube 5 is my new live rig.
To Control it I will use the Behringer fcb 1010

This total is a killer combination
