With the AT2020, Audio-Technica offers an affordable large-diaphragm condenser microphone that packs a punch. Audio-Technica's microphone is the most affordable large-diaphragm microphone, which is not to say that any corners have been cut. It is a pleasant-sounding microphone for ambitious beginners and advanced users alike, ideal for making professional-sounding vocal recordings. But other applications are also possible. The Audio-Technica AT2020 comes with a mount to attach it to a microphone stand and a high-quality leatherette case to protect it from bumps, scratches, and exposure to the elements during transport and storage.

Brilliant sound

The Audio-Technica AT2020 exhibits a fairly linear mapping of frequencies in its frequency spectrum from 20Hz to 20kHz, i.e. the entire audible range. There is only a slight boost in the frequency range between 5kHz and 10kHz, but this may be intentional, as it can emphasize the brightness of a vocal recording, for example. The AT2020's polar pattern is a non-adjustable cardioid, which is sufficient for the vast majority of applications. A/B and ORTF stereophony are therefore quite feasible with two AT2020s, which also makes it a conceivable choice as an overhead microphone.

Cuts a fine figure in many areas

No (home) studio should be without a good large-diaphragm condenser microphone, as it is the top choice for recording vocals and acoustic instruments. The proximity effect adds a flattering touch to vocals, but the AT2020 is also a great microphone for guitar amps. The Audio-Technica AT2020 also performs very well on piano and acoustic guitar. Only close-up miking on the drums should be done with caution, as the AT2020 does not have a pad circuit, but the maximum SPL is 144dB, so there should be no problems.

goed voor een zachte stem

ik heb deze microfoon gekocht net als veel andere vanwege de goede reviews. ik verwachte dat deze mooi zou klinken maar het viel wel een beetje tegen.

het hoog rond de 5K is sterker geboost bij deze microfoon wat hem mooi luchtig laat klinken maar er is een probleem hiermee. dit zorgt dat de 3K ook geboost is of eerder niet gecut is wat vlink EQ werk vereist om het goed te laten klinken met belting vocals of sterke stemmen over het algemeen. voor lichte stemmen en zangstijlen is dit goed en doet zijn werk geweldig maar daar houd het mee op. verder heeft het alleen een nier karakter en geen knoppen of poorten op de mic. de metalen behuizing is sterk en het kan dus wel wat klappen hebben.

hou daarom dus in gedachte waar deze microfoon voor bedoelt is anders zal het teleurstellen.

Zeer fijne microfoon!

Ik zocht 1 overhead microfoon voor boven mijn drumstel om het geluid van mijn bekkens op te nemen. Op internet las ik van een aantal drummers dat ze deze Audio-Technica AT2020 hiervoor gebruikten. Wegens de voordelige prijs en goede reviews dacht ik, laat ik het maar proberen. En met succes, want deze microfoon doet precies wat hij moet doen! Mooi, helder geluid en ook makkelijk in gebruik. Voor dit doeleinde kan ik hem zeker aanraden!

Uitstekende Mic voor een lage prijs!

Als Live streamer op Twitch, en Youtube content creator heb ik voor het eerst een XLR mic aangeschaft voor een uitmuntende kwaliteit. De AT2020 is hierbij een top microfoon voor een lage prijs. De kwaliteit is super en voor een condeser mic pakt hij verassend weinig achtergrond geluid op, alhoewel dit een negatief puntje kan zijn voor sommige. In combinatie met een popfilter + RODE PSA1 mic arm en een Focusrite scarlet 2i2 als interface heb ik een prachtige beginner setup for mijn podcasts en live streams. Alhoewel ik mijn Focusrite interface zojuist heb omgewisseld voor een Behringer Mixer, blijft deze AT202 nog een langere tijd in gebruik! zeer tevreden over kwaliteit van het geluid en het materiaal. Zoals altijd, een goede en snelle levering van Thomann.
