Thomann 6H Dragon tooth English System

I wanted to start learning to play these type of instruments and thought starting small would be a good idea. I bought this ocarina, because compared to its counterparts, this one has a transverse-like design. And it's shaped as a sharp tooth, which is kind of neat.

There are a couple of things I've noticed;
1) On my ocarina, the high tones tend to be a little flat, but with the right breathing I'll get it very close to what they should be.
2) The fingering sheet denoting the tones from the instrument are in key C while this is a key G instrument. It doesn't change the operation of course, but you'd need to source the right chart from somewhere else or make it yourself.
3) Tone range is from G5 all the way to A6~B6 depending how much air you give it. This thing can shriek! :D

Overall, I'm really happy with it. It's design, tone range, the finish. Lovely ocarina to have.

Very pleasant timbre from such a simple little instrument, and the body with the cracked blue ceramic finish is incredibly beautiful.
It feels very solid, and ergonomic to handle.

I have to give it one less star, despite the incredibly affordable price.
My only issue is that a couple notes are a tiny little bit flat or sharp - certain finger combinations have the same frequencies as others, i.e. what should be two pitches are actually almost the same pitch by some 10-20Hz. Thankfully, for my purpose, I only record with this, so it's relatively simple to manually cut/pitch correct recordings.

Schöne 6-Loch Ocarina für die nicht mehr ganz so kleinen, etwas fortgeschritteneren und diejenigen, denen die Tier-Ocarinas zu "kindisch" sind eine sehr gute Alternative.

Ebenfalls sehr leicht zu spielen und zu lernen, Griffweise ist die Gleiche wie bei anderen "English Pendants", die Ocarina wird allerdings wie eine "Sweet Potato" gehalten was eventuell ein bisschen Umstellung vom klassischen English Pendant bedeutet, das ist jedoch in keinster Weise ein Problem.

Die Stimmung ist etwas tiefer als bei den ganz kleinen, was sie zum anhören angenehmer macht. Die zwei Daumenlöcher auf der Rückseite erweitern den Tonumfang lediglich ein bisschen nach oben, was langfristig aber nicht wirklich viel Unterschied im Bezug auf Fortschritt macht.

Auch diese Ocarina ist sehr schön und hochwertig verarbeitet und ist ihr Geld auf jeden Fall wert!

Ein bisschen gestört hat mich das "Halsbändchen" welches farblich so gar nicht zu der Glasur passt und dessen Glasperlen beim Spielen ständig ans Instrument klappern. Außerdem ist die Ocarina zum Umhängen (für ein Kind zumindest) ein bisschen schwer.

Fazit: Ein gutes, leicht zu erlernendes und qualitativ hochwertiges Anfängerinstrument das ich auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen werde! Ein passendes Heftchen für diese bzw. ähnliche Ocarinas sollte ohne musikalische Vorerfahrung aber unbedingt mitbestellt werden!
