Instrument mic for anyone on a budget

The t.bone MB 75 is a robust microphone that not only excels at recording a variety of instruments but also offers outstanding value for beginners and budget-conscious users. Its dynamic design and highly feedback-resistant directional characteristics make the MB 75 especially well-suited for loud live stage environments, and unlike many similar microphones, the microphone features a wide cardioid polar pattern, allowing for flexible positioning – even slightly off-centre – while still delivering excellent sound capture – even at high sound pressure levels. The MB 75 also helps users avoid making accidental adjustments, because switches have been omitted entirely; instead, the package includes several convenient accessories for added convenience.

Powerful sound pressure

Thanks to its high maximum sound pressure level of 150 dB SPL, the MB 75 can easily handle miking even very loud instruments. To ensure everything is ready to go straight out of the box, the microphone comes in a compact case that includes a 6m cable for the XLR socket and a stand clamp with a reduction thread. As a dynamic microphone, the MB 75 operates without the need for phantom power and features a transmission range from 50Hz to 18kHz, with a slight emphasis on high frequencies around 5kHz. For maintenance, the manufacturer recommends cleaning the housing with a slightly damp cloth, as the grille is not designed to be unscrewed.

Tough enough for the stage

The MB 75 is a highly affordable microphone, perfect for beginners or anyone who only occasionally needs an instrument microphone and, with its high maximum sound pressure level, the MB 75 is perfect for capturing the sound of bass and guitar amps, snare drums, tom-toms, or even a trumpet during live performances. Its slim design remains visually discreet when positioned on a stand in front of wind instruments, while the simple, switch-free housing enhances safety on crowded stages by preventing accidental adjustments. Despite its low price, the dynamic cardioid MB 75 is also a reliable backup for seasoned musicians on tour, thanks to its protective case and compact size that fits easily in any tour bus.

About the t.bone

Since 1994, the t.bone has been one of Thomann's in-house brands, and its name can be found on devices such as headphones, wireless systems, in-ear equipment, and various microphones and matching accessories. "the t.bone" products are made exclusively by renowned companies who also manufacture products for other well-known brands. This provides a clear advantage: Brand-quality products at very reasonable prices. And word gets around: One in seven Thomann customers has already bought at least one product from the t.bone.

Ideally positioned

Since each the t.bone MB 75 is versatile enough to amplify a wide range of instruments, it's important to choose a stand that fits specific needs. For instance, the adjustable Millenium MS-2003 microphone stand, with a height range of 105 to 170cm, is ideal for use with a trumpet; when space is limited and the amp being recorded is placed on the floor, the compact Millenium MS-2006 stand with its small round base offers a practical solution, while the flexible Millenium Amp Clamp gooseneck can be easily positioned in front of an elevated guitar amp. For larger stages requiring longer XLR cables, the sssnake SM10 BK microphone cable is the perfect choice.

Leider nicht mit dem Original vergleichbar
Ralph638 11.04.2013
