I've purchased the K.O. II after owning it's predecessor for a longer time. I am not a professional nor a credited artist but I am playing music as an enthusiastic hobbyist since my childhood - so for more than 30 years .
The selection of the KO was based on the experience with the pocket operator version and due to the need to have something more versatile that still fits in my bag especially when I am traveling.
The build quality is solid, I had no bad experience with it and the fader was ok as well. Although I have my personal preferences for a fader, and this one is not even close to it not that bad at all.
The sound quality of the built-in speaker is decent but when the KO is plugged into a speaker or headphones that's the time when it shines. The sound quality is more than surprising, powerful and clear if we take into consideration that this is a sub 500€ instrument. The built-in library is a good starting point and even simple, fun beats could be forged out of them.
The workflow has it's learning curve but once someone gets into it, then it's pretty straightforward.
At this point the only feature that I really miss is a dedicated live performance mode, but who knows, maybe it'll come later. 🤙
