Easy tone control

The Voice Tone D1 keeps operation refreshingly simple with just two dials and a footswitch, giving performers quick access to powerful vocal effects. The first dial selects one of the eight distinctive presets – Tight, Loose, Group, Detune, Thick, Octave Up, Octave Down and Shout – each offering its own unique character and texture. The second dial, labelled Dry/Wet, smoothly blends between the unprocessed and effected signals, so singers can find the perfect balance for every performance. A recessed gain control on the left side ensures precise microphone level adjustment without the risk of accidental changes, while Mic Control mode enables the effect to be toggled directly from the optional MP-75 microphone using a button on the right side of the unit. Firmware updates can be conveniently installed via the built-in USB port, keeping the Voice Tone D1 up to date.

Vocal effect in a foot pedal

Compact and durable, the Voice Tone D1 comes in a rugged metal housing the size of a standard foot pedal, making it perfectly suited for any stage setup. Its intuitive design makes using it virtually effortless, while a bright red LED provides clear visual feedback when the effect is active. Multiple Voice Tone pedals can be linked in series to create a personalised vocal chain using the optional Singles Connect Kit, which supports up to four TC-Helicon units, with the first pedal managing the overall volume. This setup allows for creative combinations – for instance, adding a Ditto Mic Looper after the D1 to capture and layer vocal phrases in real time. Complete with a power supply and USB cable, the Voice Tone D1 arrives fully equipped for both live performance and studio use.

About TC-Helicon

TC-Helicon was founded in 2000 as a subsidiary of TC Electronic in cooperation with IVL Technologies Ltd. and has since specialised in voice recording technology. TC-Helicon focuses primarily on portable audio interfaces. The product range also includes various signal processors designed for the voice, in the form of effect pedals or compact devices with microphone stand mounts. A link in the signal chain

The XLR input and output are conveniently located on the front of the Voice Tone D1, allowing the processed signal to be sent directly to a mixing console, where the overall performance level can be finely controlled. The pedal integrates seamlessly with other TC-Helicon units – for instance, a Voice Tone T1 can be placed before the D1 to smooth out hissing or sibilant frequencies, while a Voice Tone X1 can follow to add rich distortion effects, creating dramatic variations within a performance. This modular setup makes it easy to craft dynamic, expressive vocal chains tailored to any style. Like all TC-Helicon vocal pedals, the D1 features a sleek black metal housing with a distinctive coloured finish, giving a uniform, professional appearance when several units are connected in series on stage.

ich bewerte nur den Octaver (eine Oktave tiefer) in "wet" Stellung, da ich nur diesen verwende. Ich konnte kein anderes Pedal zu dem Preis finden, dass mir einen für Gesang tauglichen Octaver liefern konnte. Als Frau ist es etwas verwirrend, wie "männlich" das oktavierte Signal klingt.

Das hatte ich mir anders vorgestellt, darum ein Stern Abzug, aber vielleicht muss es einfach so klingen, denn keine Frau kann so tief singen. Als Schwächen sind mir nur die beiden folgenden aufgefallen: Das oktavierte Signal ist gegenüber dem Original spürbar verzögert und auch leiser. Wer damit leben kann, findet wohl momentan keinen anderen auf Gesang spezialisierten Octaver ohne gleich für viel Geld noch viele andere Effekte mitzukaufen.

Die Handhabung ist simpel, das Mikrofon anschließen, Gain einstellen, und mit einem weiteren Mikrofonkabel geht das Signal zum Mischpult. Der Tontechniker war zufrieden. Das Pedal wirkt äußerst robust und steht dank Gummi ohne Verrutschen zum Treten bereit. Phantomspeisung lässt sich nicht abschalten aber ich kenne kein Mikrofon, für das das ein Problem darstellt.

Die anderen Funktionen brauche ich schlicht nicht, darum bewerte ich sie nicht.

Nicht zuviel Gain bei singenden Schlagzeugern.

Live superschnell zu bedienen. Wer background voc nur doppeln will ist hier besser aufgehoben als bei Boss ve-20.
Für singende drummer: der gain Regler sollte bei ca. "9 uhr" stehen, sonst kommt zuviel Schlagzeug mit rein, was vor allem beim ping des ride-beckens ein deutliches klickern zur folge hat. Der dry-wet Regler steht bei "10 uhr" genau richtig, nur bei den oktav-sounds sollte der wet Anteil erhöht werden.

Klare kaufempfehlung.

Förvänta er inte för mycket

Den här låter extremt syntetisk. Funkar bäst när man bara "tjockar" på en aning för att ge intryck av en röst till. Drar man på oktav upp eller ner, då blir det rent av fult.
Men i vårt band, lägger jag på lite kör och då ger den lite stuns.
Själva pedalen är rätt stor, men känns stabil.

Supereinfach zu bedienen, Topqualität. Pfeift man allerdings etwas, wird man mit einem schrillen Zirpen belohnt, aber solange man nur singen will klingt es spitzenmässig!
