Every microphone connected via the XLR input automatically receives 48V phantom power, enabling singers to focus purely on their performance, while the conveniently placed side gain control provides precise level adjustment without cluttering the user interface. Easy tone control

The Voice Tone D1 keeps operation refreshingly simple with just two dials and a footswitch, giving performers quick access to powerful vocal effects. The first dial selects one of the eight distinctive presets – Tight, Loose, Group, Detune, Thick, Octave Up, Octave Down and Shout – each offering its own unique character and texture. The second dial, labelled Dry/Wet, smoothly blends between the unprocessed and effected signals, so singers can find the perfect balance for every performance. A recessed gain control on the left side ensures precise microphone level adjustment without the risk of accidental changes, while Mic Control mode enables the effect to be toggled directly from the optional MP-75 microphone using a button on the right side of the unit. Firmware updates can be conveniently installed via the built-in USB port, keeping the Voice Tone D1 up to date.

Vocal effect in a foot pedal

Compact and durable, the Voice Tone D1 comes in a rugged metal housing the size of a standard foot pedal, making it perfectly suited for any stage setup. Its intuitive design makes using it virtually effortless, while a bright red LED provides clear visual feedback when the effect is active. Multiple Voice Tone pedals can be linked in series to create a personalised vocal chain using the optional Singles Connect Kit, which supports up to four TC Helicon units, with the first pedal managing the overall volume. This setup allows for creative combinations – for instance, adding a Ditto Mic Looper after the D1 to capture and layer vocal phrases in real time. Complete with a power supply and USB cable, the Voice Tone D1 arrives fully equipped for both live performance and studio use.

About TC Helicon

TC Helicon was founded in 2000 as a subsidiary of TC Electronic in cooperation with IVL Technologies Ltd. and has since specialised in voice recording technology. TC Helicon focuses primarily on portable audio interfaces. A link in the signal chain

The XLR input and output are conveniently located on the front of the Voice Tone D1, allowing the processed signal to be sent directly to a mixing console, where the overall performance level can be finely controlled. The pedal integrates seamlessly with other TC Helicon units – for instance, a Voice Tone T1 can be placed before the D1 to smooth out hissing or sibilant frequencies, while a Voice Tone X1 can follow to add rich distortion effects, creating dramatic variations within a performance. This modular setup makes it easy to craft dynamic, expressive vocal chains tailored to any style. Like all TC Helicon vocal pedals, the D1 features a sleek black metal housing with a distinctive coloured finish, giving a uniform, professional appearance when several units are connected in series on stage.

Makkelijk in gebruik, top resultaat!

pluspunten:
De TC-Helicon Voice Tone D1 werkt precies zoals wordt omschreven. De kwaliteit van het geluid is subliem. Vooral de eenvoud van de bediening is de reden voor mij geweest om hem aan te schaffen.

minpunten:
Eigenlijk helemaal niets, behalve wellicht dat het apparaat geen stereo uitgang heeft.

Leuk effect voor sixties sound

Dit effect gekocht om stem breder te laten klinken en meer body te geven.
Verrassend leuk resultaat. Je krijgt dat mooie doubling effect wat je in de nummers uit de sixties zo vaak hoorde.
Om het samen met de harmonizer te gebruiken moet je wel wat experimenteren met de settings. Maar het resultaat is verbazingwekkend.
Zeker geen spijt van de aankoop.

Very easy to use and no gimicky sounds

I have used other more complicated TC Helicon products in the past but found they offered too much choice and very odd gimicky effects that I wouldnt use in a million years. I am a drummer and have expanded my role in my band to do backing vocals. This unit asisits greatly by adding extra depth and tone to my own vocals The doubling features are useful in making the backing sound like more than one person.. And depending oon the amount of effect I dial in, I can add a 'female' sounding backing which can be useful in some numbers to add an extra high note dimension. To use i during performances I have a clip-on accessories tray attached to the mic stand and I put this on the tray. It's then within easy reach for me to change setting and switch it off and on between numbers. The tempation is to turn the effect knob up high, and then it can sound artificial for the music we do. So Ive found just adding a small amount of effect works best for me. One big word of warning...because there is a volume gain control on the side - if you turn this too high it can give a really hot signal to the PA desk and feedback . It's caught out quite a few sound engineers - where the backing vocals are twice as loud as the lead vocals (who doesnt use one) . ..so now I always warn them in advance.

Amazing vocal pedal

This pedal is something spectacular. What you can get from this little box at this price range it like it's free. I got it as a present for a band mate, he absolutely fell in love with it instantaneously. The results you can get from this little thing are unbelievable.

The vocals can easily sound like a professionally produced vocals and the crazy thing is that you do it on the fly and can do it LIVE. The vocalist will do it on the fly not the sound guy operating the front of house. You won't be relying on anyone else to make you sound amazing.

This pedal is very versatile, you will achieve amazing results both live and in the studio.

Live, you will be able to make you're choruses sound massive with the thick option or even the group option. Or your verses nice and cute with the octave up mode. You're live sound will start to stand out of all the other bands (if it already does stand out, you will be even a step further away from the competition :)).

In the studio this pedal also performs like a beast. If you split your signal before you hit the pedal you could save a long time by recording a dry clean vocal track and a full produced vocal track at the same time.

Could go all day long about how cool this pedal is. It's built like a tank and if you are a guitarist or bassist that use pedals, you won't struggle to incorporate this bad boy in your pedal board next to your other beauties.
