Polyphonic and chromatic tuning with high precision

Basic electronic guitar tuners only allow the open strings to be tuned individually to standard tuning (E, A, D, G, B, and E), which is a time-consuming affair. The PolyTune Clip, on the other hand, is a chromatic tuner, which means it recognises each note and allows each string to be tuned accordingly. And that is not all: Unlike conventional tuners, the PolyTune Clip also allows all of the strings to be struck at the same time while tuning. Its highly responsive piezo sensor then rapidly analyses the pitch of each string, and the display indicates which strings need to be adjusted. The tuning process is thus made significantly faster than using conventional methods.

The Danish company TC Electronic has been known for its innovative products for many years. It was founded in 1976 by brothers Kim and John Rishøj in Aarhus. great tuner

I've always used clip on tuners on my guitars and basses. I never understood why you'd want to sacrifice prime real estate on your pedal board for a tuner. The usual downsides to 'cheap', generic clip tuners are the screen and the tuning accuracy. As soon as the battery is not fully charged anymore, the screen will start to flicker, which can be very annoying in a live situation.

The Polytune is a different beast alltogether. The rectangular screen is very clear and bright. Because of the colour scheme (green and red on black) it is very easy to read under most conditions. The tuning features are awesome, it has a very fast pitch grab, and the multi string function (hit all strings and the tuner tells you which strings are out of tune) is also very useful in hectic live situations. I've been using it for a week now, and can highly recommend it.

Tuner perfect, maar …

De tuner is perfect, meer dan alleen de zes stemmingen, voor gitaar, ook ukelele, viool en chromatische stemmingen. In het gebruik enkele nadelen. Eenmaal ingeschakeld schakelt de tuner niet zelf uit, dus voor je het weet is de batterij leeg. Ander nadeeltje in het gebruik: uitschakelen met het minieme knopje links dreigt gepaard te gaan met een verandering van instellingen omdat je geneigd bent tegelijk de knop voor de instellingen in te drukken. Ergonomisch foutje.
Maar het venstertje geeft wel duidelijk aan of je “in de stemming” bent. Dus prima features, prima afwerking, maar hier een daar een beetje onhandig in het gebruik.

zeer accuraat, ook voor contrabas

mijn beste tuner so far.
Ik gebruik hem voor akoestische gitaar en contrabas.
Hij reageert snel en is duidelijk afleesbaar, ook bij daglicht.
Ik heb nog geen batterij hoeven vervangen, dus die gaat denk ik lang mee.

Voor mij erg prettig: deze tuner pakt de lage E van de contrabas erg goed op, de meeste tuners kunnen dat niet.

De tuner voelt wat boven & onder is en draait de tekst op de display automatisch om. Als je hem gewoon op de gitaarkop klemt, werkt dat perfect. Maar het is niet altijd handig als je hem horizontaal bevestigt op een ander instrument.

Het heeft een hoge kwaliteit. Een klein probleem wat ik wel had was de polytune niet altijd alle snaren oppakte maar dat was niet zo een heel goed probleem. Hij was ook erg accuraat.
