The Shure PGA58 is a cardioid dynamic microphone designed for lead and backup vocal performance in live sound environments. Built around a moving coil capsule with a purpose-voiced frequency response running from 50Hz to 16kHz, it delivers the clarity and presence a singer needs to cut through a band mix without requiring phantom power or the careful handling associated with a condenser microphone. The cardioid polar pattern rejects off-axis sound from monitors and stage sources, and the low 150 ohm output impedance handles long cable runs without signal degradation. The all-black finish and grille give it a clean, unobtrusive stage presence. A stand adapter, zipper pouch, and XLR cable are included; an on/off switch on the body provides immediate control during performance.

Capsule and construction
The moving coil capsule requires no phantom power – the Shure PGA58 connects directly to any XLR input on a mixer or interface and operates immediately. The capsule is internally shock-mounted, reducing handling noise during performance; the robust die-cast construction is built to withstand the physical demands of regular live use. The frequency response is purpose-voiced for live vocals rather than remaining neutral. A gentle low-frequency roll-off helps control proximity effect, while subtle presence lifts through the upper midrange and around 10kHz improve intelligibility, articulation, and vocal definition. Beyond this region, the response falls away rapidly, helping reduce unwanted stage spill and excessive high-frequency detail. About Shure
