Radial Engineering JDI Stereo

I bought this DI for 2 reasons: To ensure a quality balanced out for my synthesizer and for ease of use.

It's like setting up an expensive, 3D, surround home cinema system in your bathroom, it's a waist of potential.
So with that mindset it's a waist of potential to invest in a amazing sounding tool and then let the signal go trough a potato.

This baby ensures me of dual-mono out's that are produced together and of high quality build.

They are rather pricey so I would still suggest to look for cheaper DI's or two mono DI's but invest in these if you can make it part of your budget.

The build quality is very good and you can guarantee recording a sound as beautiful as the signal source it originates from, which for me was one of the reasons I invested in it.

When using with synthesizers, (even though it's sonic enhancing, tone softening qualities of the Jensen Transformers are often overlooked or unnecessary for modern synths) keep in mind your outputs become balanced XLRs.

Most synthesizers have unbalanced jacks that you can feed into XLR/TRS inputs on your interface and sending phantom power will not normally harm your synth.
In this case however, extra care must be taken to not damage your equipment because phantom power can effectively be send over the balanced XLRs into your synth and cause harm.

Benutze diese DI Box bis jetzt bei Live u. Recording u.a. für den Anschluß einer Akustik-Gitarre an den Eingang eines hochwertigen Mike-preamps (Amek 9098). Bisher hatte ich hier eine ältere passive Klotz DI-box. Ich muss sagen der Klangunterschied mit dem Wechsel zur Radial JDI war schon ziemlich beeindruckend und brachte eine drastische Verbesserung: die Auflösung des Signals insgesamt, besonders in den Mitten und Höhen der A-Gitarre, die Feinheiten werden viel deutlicher abgebildet. Auch die Saitentrennung des Gitarrensounds profitiert gut davon. Zudem ist sie deutlich übersteuerungsfester, d.h. bei hohem Eingangspegel ?matscht? der Sound im Vergleich zur Klotz wesentlich(!) weniger. Klar, sie ist nicht billig, aber hätte ich den Klangunterschied vorher gewußt, hätte ich schon viel früher in eine hochwertige DI investiert.

He comparado 8 ó 9 DIs en la misma sesión y creo que esta es la mejor. Desde luego es la que más me gusta de este rango de precios. Vi en un video de la marca en el que aconsejaban la J48 para guitarra acústica por ser activa pero a mi me suena más natural y mejor ésta. Le quito una estrella en características porque la versión mono tiene más posibilidades aunque supongo que sería imposible meter todo por duplicado en la misma caja.
P.D.: Si tienes un piezo pasivo u otro sistema con la impedancia muy alta, no creo que te funcione igual de bien esta DI.
