The ultimate all-round groove looper

The Mooer Groove Loop X2 combines a stereo looper with a recording capacity of ten minutes and a drum machine with over 120 different grooves from various musical genres in a single unit with a compact metal housing. In addition to basic looper functions such as recording and overdubbing, the Groove Loop X2 also offers a time stretch function for reducing the playback speed without changing the pitch, a pair of stereo outputs that allow the audio signals from the looper and the drum machine to be sent separately, and of course a pair of stereo inputs – all of which makes this versatile pedal not only an excellent addition to guitar and bass pedalboards but also ideal for use with keyboards and numerous other instruments that use line-level stereo signals. The external control output for connecting an additional footswitch provides even more control options, while the 14 slots allow users to store their most important loops and grooves for instant access later on.

Easy to use

Compared to Mooer's micro series, the X2 series pedals boast significantly larger housings and user interfaces with a very spacious and clear layout. The Mooer Groove Loop X2 thus features a pair of "Loop" and "Speed" control knobs for adjusting the volume and speed of recorded loops in the upper section alongside three drum machine control knobs in the mid-section: "Genre" for selecting one of the eleven different musical styles, "Pattern" for selecting from eleven suitable grooves, and "Drum" for adjusting the volume of the drum machine. The seven integrated LEDs on the left side of the housing provide information about the selected preset and corresponding bank by illuminating yellow for presets 1 to 7 or green for presets 8 to 14. Last but not least, the user interface features two soft-touch footswitches in the lower section, which ensure smooth control of recording, playback, stop, and overdub functions or the tap tempo.

Deluxe grooving and looping

A looper is a great "sparring partner", and that is why it has become a standard in the pedalboards and rigs of musicians worldwide. But besides offering tremendous room for creativity through a generous recording capacity of up to ten minutes per track, the Mooer Groove Loop X2 also allows just the right drum groove to be added to a loop using the integrated drum machine, which offers a large variety of styles – from Pop, Funk, Rock, Metal, and Latin through to Disco beats – alongside a "justify" function for perfect automatic syncing of drum machine and looper. Further useful features of the Groove Loop X2 are its auto record function, which automatically starts the looper after detecting an input signal, and the time stretch algorithm, which opens up even more creative loop editing options.

About Mooer

Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.

For guitar, bass, and beyond

Thanks to its stereo audio signal routing and generous recording capacity, the Mooer Groove Loop X2 will come into its own in a wide range of different guitar and bass setups as well as keyboard and other instrument rigs that operate with line-level signals. Matching the speed of a loop with the drum machine's rhythm for an excellent performance is child's play – and ideal for all musicians who love to improvise on stage. To push their performance even further, users can add an external expression pedal (available separately) to their setup and explore the full potential of the Groove Loop X2 without needing to bend down and make manual settings. Mooer additionally offers a free editor software programme that allows audio files to be conveniently imported and exported via the pedal's USB port using a computer.
