Marshall DSL1HR

Ik wilde na mijn Nuxx 20BT modelling combi eindelijke een echte buizenversterker. Met gain uit de versterker en niet uit een pedaal. Uit angst voor teveel volume in de huiskamer, maar gekozen voor een kleine 1W cab. Uit angst voor de scherpe randjes en voor de vintage looks en de vereiste 16ohm, een 1974CX cab erbij gekocht. De uitvoering van de DSL1H is goed, afwerking ook. Het ontbreken van een gain om het classic kanaal is jammer. Het verschil equalizer tussen classic en ultra gain is te groot. Het clean geluid is te doen en te schel. De ultra gain is goed voor rock, maar voor metal is er te weinig controle over de bas. Het geluid is zelfs over een 1974CX met Greenback speaker vermoeiend.
Ik heb nu de DSL1H vervangen door een ENGL E606 Ironball Head 20SE. Die doet alles goed. Maar ja, kost ook het viervoudige... Conclusie is dat de DSL1H toch iets te kleine en te goedkoop uitgevoerd is. Zelfs de hoofdtelefoonaansluiting is niet bevredigend te noemen.

Heb de versterker een week in huis, en ik kan alleen maar zeggen, had ik eerder moeten doen. Een klasse versterker Marshall heeft hier echt een klasse apparaat voor thuis gebruik gemaakt. Ze hebben hier echt hun stinkende best gedaan om de sound van zijn grotere broers ook in deze 1 wat versterker te krijgen.
De emulated uitgang geeft een goede sound zowel op de speaker als via het mengpaneel, Het gain kanaal is uitstekend goed hoog midden en bas toon. Het ultra gain kanaal idem al komt hier wel wat ruis door maar dat is te verhelpen. Maar ook deze 1 watter kan snoei hard maar gelukkig heb je de mogelijkheid om naar de 0.1 wat modus te schakelen via het knopje aan de achterkant.
Als je twijfelt om de versterker te kopen ik zou zeggen gewoon kopen. je krijgt hier geen spijt van.

I bought this product to use at home and Jam with the friends. I use it with fender pugilist distortion pedal and boss SD-1 for the moment. First i was going to buy blackstar ht1 mkii head, but i changed my mind since dsl1 has more features in the almost same price and I wanted to have Marshall for the first time and I am really happy.

The amp itself is well built, its beautiful , and good quality material is used obviously. It has FX loop and Emulated output which are really great features for this price point. Sound quality is very nice, you have Marshall valve amp tones in this price.

PROS - FX LOOP
- Emulated output which allow you to plug your headphones or you can directly connect to your audio interface like how i do for the silent practicing in the night. I use focusrite scarlet 2i2 third gen and sound is perfect. Emulated output with headphones also ok, but not as good as audio interface and then headphones. If you have both audio interface and headphones I would recommend to connect first to your interface and connect your headphones to interface too. But if you do not have interface, headphones you can also connect it is not so bad.
- Power reduction to 0.1 watt for home use perfect feature.
- Reverb, i use it with more clean tones and its ok not so bad.
- Footswitch is well built, it has long cable and made from really solid material feels really good.
- Also it has another cable inside which you can connect to your cabin or guitar whatever.
- Light, and handle is well made you can carry easily.

CONS- I did not see so far any of cons, I will give update if i will see.

Overall great product i am happy, I would highly recommend.

Edit - After almost 2.5 years of use, what ı can say is I recommend everyone who owns this amp should get an eq pedal. I was wondering why the OD channel sound not very clear compare to the classic gain channel, and I couldn't find the reason. Classic gain channel with any pedal its fine, but the OD channel. Recently on youtube, I discovered the BOSS GE-7 eq pedal and that is the pedal that brings clarity to the OD channel of this amp. FYI friends! Check out BOSS GE-7 also a lot of things you can do with an eq pedal.
