Don't be fooled by its size: Housed in a compact metal casing measuring just 94x48x53mm and weighing only 160g, the IK Multimedia ToneX One packs a huge range of pro-level sounds for both guitar and bass. Alongside 20 onboard tone models ready at the press of a button, users have access to over 20,000 downloadable presets, all easily managed and customised via the ToneX desktop software. Key parameters like gain, noise gate, volume, three-band EQ, and effects intensity can be quickly tweaked using the top-panel controls, with colour-coded mini knobs that can be assigned to different preset types or effect categories. The USB-C port also transforms the ToneX One into an audio interface, ideal for quick and straightforward recording sessions.

Effortless control, powerful features
Despite its deep functionality, the ToneX One remains refreshingly simple to use, making it easy to navigate through presets when placed on a pedalboard. Straight out of the box, it comes with 20 tone models spread across three banks, offering a versatile mix of amp types, cabs, and dynamics processors like boost, overdrive, fuzz, distortion and EQs. Users can expand the palette by loading additional cabinet impulse responses (IRs), while five built-in reverb types add spaciousness where needed. Naturally, reverb really shines in stereo and the stereo TRS output handles it with ease. Also included is a handy dual mode, allowing the user to switch between two presets instantly with a single press of the footswitch.

For guitar and bass
Whether the user is a guitarist or bassist, the ToneX One offers a plethora of quality sounds to suit any style, all easily stored for rehearsal, stage, home jamming, or studio recording. Users can edit, organise, and fine-tune their patches using the desktop software, tailoring the pedal to their playing. And thanks to its small footprint, the ToneX One fits into any gigbag, or even a jeans pocket, for ultra-portable use. A USB power bank can keep it running without the need for a 9V supply, making it great for playing on the go. Even better, the user can plug in a pair of stereo headphones and head outdoors for a completely cable-free jam.
