Best DAW controller for the money and very decent overall
Kid3000 30.09.2015
It took ages for this to come out. Behringer promised affordable and compact (comparing to other solutions on the market) DAW controller with motorised faders.
It's all there and except the waiting there is just few small minuses:
- Jog wheel feels quite plastic and wobbly,
- LCDs are somehow difficult to read at certain angles - it would be much batter if they were angled towards user like on most of other units of this type on the market.
- LCDs were advertised as colour coded but MCU protocol doesn't support it and as of now there doesn't seem to be an option to adjust their colour
Except those few bits the unit seem to be very well made and looks great, the faders feel good and are quite smooth. The unit is smaller than competitors but probably a bit taller. It works fine with Studio One and Logic without problems as far I can say. There was a small issue in Cubase where time wasn't displayed but update was apparently in works.
Overall very nice unit that ticks almost all the boxes for half the price of original MCU.
