Doet wat ie moet doen

Ben geen tonenfreak, maar klinkt prima. Goede kwaliteit en het mic gat is mooi afgewerkt (handig als je veel optreedt) waardoor het gat goed beschermt wordt voor scheuren. Ik heb deze er al jaren opzitten en nog steeds prima!

Nicely made and sounds good. Especially the details of the hole is very nice.

I bought this skin mainly because it is black and thought it would look good on the kit. After tunning the kit the kick drum was sounding fantastic. When I went to record the kick I found it impossible to get a good sound coming through my monitors. I have recorded many kits and have never had as much trouble getting a good sound as I had with this skin. I tried every variation possible and no matter what I done the sound was muffeled and dead sounding. It seemed to work in the oppisite way to usual. The further I put the mic into the hole the less beater I was picking up and the more bottom end I was getting. I ended up putting back on the old Remo that came off and was able to get a great sound straight away. For me its nice sounding on the kit but not for recording.

All my other drumheads are Aquarian, and I'm more than happy with it. I was down to my last Evans head on the kick (EQ3 reso). I've been wanting to replace it with an Aquarian for a while, but it's been a disaster. I just can't get it to sound good, whereas with the EQ3 I can do it in three minutes. Also, the inner coating started peeling off almost immediately along the bend, which I really don't like. I hope I just got a defective one, but I'll probably stick with the EQ3 for now.
