Classic looks, complex sound

With the Caz series, the Turkish cymbal specialist Zultan has created a collection of extremely inexpensive handcrafted cymbals made of premium B20 bronze. Their sound profile has been carefully tuned to make them ideal for Jazz, as well as other genres that tend towards the mellow. The cymbals are manufactured in Turkey using methods that have remained more or less unchanged for centuries, with a great emphasis on skilled handcraft – the simple, classic look of the cymbals is just as traditional as the workmanship itself. The Caz range includes numerous Crash, Crash/Ride, Ride, Sizzle Ride, and Hi-Hat models; two pre-configured sets are also available.

Quality craftsmanship at a competitive price

Merely mentioning handcrafted cymbals from Turkey is enough to get knowledgeable drummers and percussionists pricking up their ears. However, a look at the prices involved will often have their jaws dropping, too. This is exactly where Zultan's Caz cymbals come in: Rarely has so much musical mojo been available for so little money. Now, some of the premium models from the established brands truly are outstanding – but the Caz cymbals, which are completely hand-lathed and hammered over their entire surface, are extremely competitive contenders. Jazz in Turkish

Caz is simply the Turkish word for Jazz, and it's clear that these cymbals have been designed with that very purpose in mind. Jazz drummers need light instruments that react to the gentlest touch and deliver a balanced, harmonious sound across all dynamic levels, from soft to loud. Of course, this applies not only to Jazz, but to genres like Blues, Funk, Latin, and Soul, where Caz cymbals can also be played to their strengths. As such, this 18" crash can be used in a variety of ways, delivering just the right sound for each of the aforementioned genres, and responding well to rods or brushes, too.

Jazz is just the beginning…

This is the case for all kinds of acoustic, unamplified music, which might include unplugged guitar sessions, but also live Salsa gigs or Gospel concerts in churches. Of course, there's nothing to stop Caz cymbals being used with amplified music too, as long as they're played sensitively and with the right tools. The 18" Caz Crash has a fast, articulate and yet warm and washy crash; it'll never be too loud or dominant, melting instead into the sound of the rest of the band.

not just for fazz

Dark, warm feel buttery on the stick. This amazing cymbal is just not for jazz.. I played a rock gig to try it the first time and i didn't though it have so nice stick definition also used as a ride/crash cutting well in the mix. It is really thin and flexible and open up quite fast. Very dynamic. Maybe just not good for heavy metal stuff but surely awesom for rock classic rock fusion and funk. Best quality/price ratio on the market. Higly recommended. Will surely buy the 17 the 19 and the hats.just one negative note :i Hope it will last becouse it seems very fragile due to its little weight.

All around crash!

One of the most ''all around crashes'' with the lowest price and best quality. It is crisp, has full body and it is very clear without unusable frequencies, especially for recording. I use it along with the 17 and 19 version for rock mainly, pop, funk.
I would not recommend it for heavy players who smash their cymbals though. It would brake in day one.

this is the first zultan i have bought after a lot of research online. there is not much info on the internet about this series, so i'm going to say a few things.
first, the look - big shiny cymal, hand made in Turkey, thin (not paperthin) which is good thing for jazz, and not just jazz, but all kind of music. good sound is good sound, right?
big, dark, and short sounding. really cool. i also have zultan caz 16" crash, and they are great matching pair of crash cymbals.
quality is there but i would not recommend these for heavy beaters.

Great thin crash

I prefer the 20" crash over the 18, that's the only reason for the lower rating. Still a great cymbal at an even greater price. Will rival any Zildjian of similar make.
