Real bronze from the Far East

Zultan's most affordable cymbal series is called Aja – pronounced "Asia" – and, as the name suggests, is made in China. But unlike the machine-made B8 bronze cymbals offered in the same price range by their competitors, the Ajas are cast from high-quality B20 bronze and finished by hand. In addition to the 16" china, the Aja range includes other individual cymbals in various sizes and designs, as well as various preconfigured sets.

B20 – the standard yesterday, today, and tomorrow

In China, people have been familiar with the manual production of gongs and cymbals for centuries, so a lot of experience has gone into making the Aja series. 80 percent copper and 20 percent tin, B20 for short, is the bronze alloy that has long been known to be the magic formula for high-quality, melodious cymbals. As the Aja cymbals are finished by hand, each one is unique, which means that slight sound variations among individual cymbals of the same model are normal. The sound of the Zultan 16" Aja China is wild and hissing, just as you would expect from a typical china cymbal.

Zultan 16" Aja China, Detail

Good sound doesn't have to cost a fortune

High-quality cymbals are often unaffordable for beginners: Drummers on a budget will love the fact that Zultan Aja cymbals offer a lot of sound for not a lot of money. And it won't matter if they're playing Rock, Alternative, Grunge, Pop, or Funk – the 16" Aja China can be used in all of these genres and more thanks to its cutting sound and trashy, aggressive character. This also means that this model might be exactly the thing more advanced drummers are looking for to round off their setup.

About Zultan

To provide traditional craftsmanship at a fair price has been the guiding principle of Zultan ever since it was founded in 2000. The firm’s practice of selling directly to the end customer makes it possible to offer very customer-friendly prices. Nevertheless, the production process for Zultan’s trademark cymbals, which are made mainly in Turkey, is of the highest quality, a fact which has ensured they have also been a fixture in the Thomann range since 2011. The nearly 250 Zultan products cover several cymbal series, catering for all sectors of the music market. Zultan also offers accessories such as bags and drumsticks. Thanks to the use of high-quality materials and manufacturing expertise, Zultan really does offer uncompromising quality at a reasonable price.

Save money – but in the right places

Anyone who's serious about drumming, be they a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, knows that the sound of their cymbals is just as important as all the great features – and the cool look! – of their newly acquired drums. No matter whether it's only this 16" china, or a complete Zultan Aja cymbal set for even better value for money – the investment is definitely worth it, because the cymbals sound so good that even experienced drummers will get years of playing pleasure from them. And the Aja range is so diverse that other cymbals from the hi-hat, crash, ride, china, and splash categories can be purchased later, or as needed, to meet players' changing demands.

Dit is mijn eerste ervaring met een china cymbal de prijs is perfect en de kwaliteit is voor de prijs ook goed! Enig min puntje is dat de cymbal niet echt stevig aan voelt. Voor de rest prima en acceptabele sound!

Good for the 'soft' drummer
Anoniem 22.01.2016
For its price, it is a great cymbal: the sound is alright (bright and sharp) and the cymbal itself looks good. The only negative thing is the strenght of the cymbal. After playing one show with my band, the cymbal broke already (a part of the cymbal broke). Of course, this is not only the cymbal, but also my playing, but still; the cymbal is not so strong. Especially if you play the 'harder' type of music (rock, metal ect), it is not a good cymbal to use. How obvious it may seem, the people who would like to play rock and metal music ect, i would just advice the 'special' kind of china's, to play harder music with (thicker and china's who are made to play rock and metal music with).

Doet precies wat ik ervan verwachte en meer. De China kan heel luid klinken maar je kan ook zacht slaan natuurlijk.
Ben er blij mee. Hij ziet er gaaf uit!

Sounds amazing for the Price!
Lewan 20.09.2022
I recently bought this to add a second china to my kit, and to my surprise it sounds amazing! It is surprisingly loud and shrill for the size, however it sounds great on recordings. The only downside I can think of about it is likely the fact that it does not seem the most durable. It picks up stick marks easily and the same with finger marks, although despite that I have not had any major issues with it bending or cracking, and I play mostly metal so I hit fairly hard. Another thing to mention is that it does not work well for stacks, as it has a really big bell, making it difficult to use unless you have access to a hi-hat stand. Either way I would most recommend this to anyone who needs a loud and trashy china for little money.
