Zultan's Q Series is a range of medium-weight, hand-hammered Turkish cymbals made of B20 bronze, which are striking because of their unusual appearance. The different surface treatments are not only pleasing to the eye, but also have an effect on the sound. The result is a sound that can be used in many different styles, cuts through well, and at the same time has a dark, warm sonic range. The affordable Q Series is aimed at ambitious beginners and more advanced drummers, and comprises individual hi-hats, crashes, splashes, and rides, as well as pre-configured complete sets.

Opposites attract attention

While the completely lathed and high-gloss polished underside of the Q cymbals is similar to the popular Zultan Rock Beat series, the upper side is absolutely unique. The rim, which is covered with deep hammer indentations, is unlathed, as is the bell – this raw, earthy look creates a strong contrast to the high-gloss centre. The manual craftsmanship of Zultan's experienced Turkish cymbal smiths makes each cymbal really unique. The 12" splash has a powerful, dynamic, full sound with a slightly dark character and medium sustain.

One letter – many uses

The Zultan Q cymbals are in the medium weight category and are ideal for genres such as Pop, Funk, and Blues thanks to their warm and balanced sound and their slightly reduced treble range. Their sound always blends homogeneously into their musical surroundings, leaving plenty of room for the other instruments. With its full-bodied sound and quick response, the 12" splash is predestined for explosive accents that won't create the jarring sharpness that many other splashes of this size do. When played more gently, the cymbal will also cut a fine figure performance in acoustic sessions.

The Q Series does it all

The Zultan 12" Q splash is an excellent choice wherever a punchy but not overly bright splash sound is desired, be it a Blues session, Funk gig, or Pop concert. Whether it's played loud or soft, it consistently produces a pleasant, approachable sound that stays controlled, without ever being too prominent. Another possible use is in the mixed genres of acoustic and electronic music that are so popular these days, in which darker-sounding cymbals are preferred, as their profile suits the overall atmosphere better. Last but not least, all Q cymbals will also do an excellent job in the studio, as their sonic properties make them extremely microphone-friendly.

Handarbeit zum kleinen Preis

Zum Cajon war ich auf der Suche nach einem Becken mit mehr Persönlichkeit. Bislang hatte ich ein Paiste Alpha 10" Thin Splash im Einsatz. Das Zultan 12" Q Splash klingt - insbesondere für die Größe - erstaunlich dunkel und irgendwie groß, insbesondere wenn es mit der Hand angespielt wird. Mit Mallets angeschlagen bekommt man einen satten Gong. Mit Cajon-Brushes (Kunststoff) ist es heller und mit ordentlichem Sustain - fast schon crashig. Mit Sticks natürlich viel zu laut für ein reines Akustikset. Das Becken ist sehr gut verarbeitet und - wenn man das so sagen darf - sehr schön anzusehen. Auf dem praktisch nicht behandelten Außenring sieht man sofort, dass das Becken per Hand geklöppelt ist. Bin kein gelernter Schlagwerker und kann daher nichts über die Verwendung im Schlagzeugsetup sagen. Probierts einfach einmal aus.

Je la frappe à chaque fois que je la croise, j'aime le son qu'elle fait. Je recommande vraiment si c'est ce que vous recherchez, cependant faites attention, elle est plus Crash que Splash et s'impose pas mal dans le champs sonore, si vous voyez ce que j'veux dire. Surtout pour moi qui en joue plutot avec les mains

Lo utilizo junto un juego de Paiste signature full crash 16,18, full ride 20 y mezcla con ellos de maravilla.
Sin lugar a dudas ha sido el producto Zultan que más me ha gustado con diferencia. Es brillante pero tambien tiene ese toque terroso de la serie Raw.
En breve ampliaré con otros platos de la serie Q porque son una pasada tanto en construccion sonido y estéticmente son preciosos.
Muy muy contento.
La atención de Thomann y su servicio postventa es inmejorable y me han ayudado a poder encontrar definitivamente lo que buscaba.

Toimiva hyvän kuuloinen splashi

Tuli korvattua haljennut reikäsplashi tällaisella 12" splashilla. Ihan hyvä valinta pienemmällä budjetilla settiin, missä on useampia peltejä.
