In-ear monitoring for four

The XVive U4 Wireless System Bundle 4R is a wireless in-ear system for monitoring applications, and is capable of supplying an individual monitor mix to four singers or musicians at a range of up to 27.5m. The set comprises a transmitter and four receivers that can pick up six selectable channels, and it operates in the 2.4GHz ISM radio band, which means that touring musicians can enjoy its high-quality and nuance-rich sound anywhere in the world. The system is intuitively operated using the controls on the receiver, so users can look forward to convenient and reliable in-ear monitoring with complete flexibility.

A compact transmitter solution

The XVive transmitter can be plugged into an unbalanced XLR socket on the mixing desk, and the XLR connection features a spring-loaded latch with a release button for added security, so unintentional disengaging is reliably prevented. A duo of switches for on/off and mute and for selecting line and AUX modes, respectively, are also provided, while the circular button at the centre allows the user to select one of the six available channels for transmitting the 24-bit/48kHz signal, which covers a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz. The in-built rechargeable battery provides up to five hours of operation and can be charged via the USB port, and the compact transmitters' sturdy ABS housing will reliably stand up to many years of use on the road.

Practical and intuitive

The XVive receiver, which can easily be attached to a trouser waistband or instrument strap, features two rotary controls that are placed in an easily accessible position. The first of these is the volume control (labelled accordingly with a large "V"), while the second is used for channel selection, and an LED indicator shows at a glance which channel is active. The top side of the receiver houses the on/off switch and a headphone output in 3.5mm mini-jack format for connecting the in-ear monitors. Like the transmitter, the receiver also features an LED indicator that shows at a glance how much battery charge is left and illuminates red when the level drops below 29% and flashes when a recharge is needed. Charging takes place via the USB socket located on the left-hand side of the housing.

Not only for live applications

The XVive U4 Wireless System Bundle 4R gives musicians and vocalists a reliable wireless in-ear monitoring solution. A comfortable user experience is ensured thanks to the high level of audio quality and 107dB signal-to-noise ratio, and the four receivers included in this set mean that a whole band can listen to the monitor mix via in-ears. Additional transmitters can also be added to the setup if individual monitor mixes are required by specific band members, and this wireless system will also prove to be a great solution for other applications, such as city tours or presentations to small groups in which maintaining a modest volume level is important.

About XVive Audio

Xvive Audio officially entered the market in 2012 with its compact U2 wireless guitar system. Since then, the company has also been involved in the development of wireless microphone technology. Its catalogue also includes effects pedals, such as the Signature Series, which were developed in partnership with guitarist Thomas Blug. The products are designed by an American team, based in Pasadena, California, which is composed of musicians and engineers and draws on decades of professional experience. Its lead designer, Howard Davies, was previously employed at Electro Harmonix and Pigtronix, among others. Xvive Audio's goal is to create products that deliver exceptional sound and build quality, while remaining affordable for any musician.

An adaptable companion

The XVive U4 Wireless System Bundle 4R is also ideal for bands who want to hone their performance effectively - and above all silently - in the rehearsal room before a big show. As mentioned above, the system's ISM-band transmission means it can be taken on tour all over the world, and its combination of compact size and flexibility of use mean it will be an extremely useful and reliable companion. Users can switch between a line level of +4dBu and an AUX level of -10dBV on the transmitter, which makes it compatible with a range of different hardware. When used with a mixing desk, the transmitter should be connected to the main output, and the receiver should only be switched on after the transmitter has been securely connected.

Zuverlässige Aufführungs-Helfer

Ich verwende das Xvive U4 System im Rahmen von Schul-Projekten als Regie- und Technik-Soufleur bei Puppentheater-Proben und -Aufführungen für die ausführenden Schüler und Schülerinnen hinter der Bühne.

Insgesamt 11 Receiver und 3 Transmitter sind dabei gleichzeitig im Einsatz.
8 Receiver empfangen ihr Signal von Transmitter A
2 Receiver empfangen ihr Signal von Transmitter B
1 Receiver empfängt sein Signal von Transmitter C

Die Geräte wurden jetzt in 3 Proben und 5 Aufführungen verwendet. Bislang waren keinerlei Aussetzer oder Störungen zu beklagen. Die Akkuladung hat bei allen Geräten im Dauereinsatz über 3 Stunden zuverlässig gereicht (länger habe ich noch keine Erfahrungen).

Super für meine Anwendung ist die robuste Ausführung, die kleine Größe und die simple Bedienbarkeit der Empfänger gerade auch für Grundschulkinder.
Das schafft für alle Teilnehmer Bewegungsfreiheit, fördert die Konzentrationsfähigkeit und bietet ganz neue Möglichkeiten.

Nicht nur die Kinder sind begeistert.

Wonderful for its price

I got this system in order for my band to rehearse with good and clear sound without the need to take up a lot of space with amps and PA systems. I was blown away by the quality considering the price and simplicity of the product. The range is pretty impressive too (roughly 10-15 meters in my experience).

The only possible downside I can think of is battery life, but as long as you charge them after use then it should never be a problem. With that being said, they can also be used while charging.

I highly recommend this product for people who are curious about starting with in-ear monitoring systems but don't have the budget for higher end gear. I would even argue that the higher end gear could be unnecessary for a non touring musician.
