Compact PA wireless system

The XVive U3D Dual Wireless System is a digital wireless solution for PA and DJ systems that offers six freely selectable radio channels and operates at radio frequencies within the open 2.4GHz ISM band, which can be used without registration and free of charge worldwide. Thanks to 24-bit/48kHz conversion, a dynamic range of 110dB, and a total harmonic distortion of 0.2%, the XVive U3D Dual Wireless System ensures a high-quality sound for every situation. Each U3 transmitter and receiver unit in this ultra-compact dual wireless system weighs in at around 90g, and the transmitters measuring just 10cm in length require very little space on the mixing console.

Low-latency transmission

The U3 transmitters and receivers that make up the XVive U3D Dual Wireless System feature XLR connections that allow them to be directly connected to mixing consoles or active speakers with an extremely low latency of 5ms, which can be ignored in practical applications. The rechargeable lithium-ion batteries contained in the U3 transmitters and receivers provide a wireless system operating time of up to five hours and can be fully charged within 2.5 hours, even during operation, using a 5V USB power source from a computer, adapter, or power bank.

The XVive U3D Dual Wireless System offers users a digital wireless audio solution for PA and DJ systems that can be set up in next to no time: All they have to do is plug it in, select a channel, and play. Its signal range of up to 27m makes the U3D system the ideal choice for all DJs, bands, and musicians who want to perform in small to medium-sized venues and minimise the risk of tripping over loudspeaker cables on stage. The scope of delivery also includes a carrying pouch and a USB charging cable for each transmitter and receiver pair as well as an XLR extension adapter for mixing consoles that provide only a small amount of space between XLR outputs.

About Xvive Audio

Xvive Audio officially entered the market in 2012 with its compact U2 wireless guitar system. Since then, the company has also been involved in the development of wireless microphone technology. Its catalogue also includes effects pedals, such as the Signature Series, which were developed in partnership with guitarist Thomas Blug. The products are designed by an American team, based in Pasadena, California, which is composed of musicians and engineers and draws on decades of professional experience. Its lead designer, Howard Davies, was previously employed at Electro Harmonix and Pigtronix, among others. Xvive Audio's goal is to create products that deliver exceptional sound and build quality, while remaining affordable for any musician.

Stereo and dual mono applications

The XVive U3D Dual Wireless System allows DJs, bands, and solo musicians to transmit their audio signals to a stereo PA system without the constraints of cables simply by connecting the U3 transmitters to the XLR outputs of a mixing console, plugging the U3 receivers into the XLR inputs of two active speakers, and selecting a separate radio channel for each transmission path. Alternatively, users can also create a dual mono setup by connecting one U3 transmitter to the mixing console's XLR output, plugging the U3 receivers into the XLR inputs of two active speakers, and selecting the same radio channel for all three units.

Good, but not great.

Works great with microphones. In my opinion the dj capability is a bit of an afterthought. The transmitters are way too thick to fit side by side in the XLR outs of an audio mixer or a controller, so one of them must be extended with the provided extender (which makes the connection a bit flimsy and not very safe) or they must be connected with cables. The sound quality is pristine and the noise floor is very low. The range however, isn't that good, substantially lower than SkaaPro, and somewhat similar to AIAIAI's Wireless+ (X02) so I'll probably return these and get a couple of Sennheisers (haven't decided yet). Bottomline is that this system is probably too expensive for what it is (the sennheiser yet a bit more), and while it works nicely, its limitations prevents me to justify its price (for this kind of money, you get a Skaa Pro Dani transmitter and a couple of Wet Sounds transceivers, which are rock solid and work flawlessly with double the range and double the battery life). However, if you want a low latency versatile system that can work with both mics and PAs, you might give this one a try.

Manchmal besser als Kabelziehen

Brauchte eine Alternative um zwei lange Kabelstrecken mit viel Abkleben durch den Raum mit viel Publikumsverkehr zu vermeiden, wären fast 120 Meter Kabel mit vielen Laufstrecken in einer Kirche geworden.
Ein Freund hatte mit dafür einmal ähnliche Sender/Empfänger von Sennheiser (deutlich andere Preisklasse) geliehen. Da ich nicht immer leihen kann, brauchte ich, weil die Situation öfter vorkommen wird, eigene.
Ich habe die XVive genommen, da diese auch bei Betrieb, anders als die Sennheiser, mit Strom über eine Powerbank betrieben werden können.
Einfach zu bedienen, weil klar beschriftet und gut angezeigt. Mit maximal 6 Kanälen kann ich gut leben, mehr als 3 Pärchen werde ich nicht brauchen.
Ich habe sie für eine Videoübertragung genutzt, da spielte das ohnehin geringe Delay keine Rolle.

Arbeitsmikros waren Sennheiser 935.

Für meine Kondensatormikrofone werde ich das passende Gegenstück mit Phantomstrom später testen.

Die Arbeitsersparnis von einer Stunde verlegen, kleben, Kleber entfernen und zusammenrollen werde ich mir gutschreiben, weil es braucht nur 5 Minuten, um die saubere Verbindung aufzubauen.

Für Videoübertragung gut zu gebrauchen, ob sie Live taugen kann ich nicht beurteilen.

Avec une bande de fréquence de 2,4 GHz, similaire à celle utilisée par le Wi-Fi, il faut prendre en compte la possibilité d'interférences avec certains logiciels comme Light Rider …

Cependant, le Xvive U3D Dual offre une installation facile et rapide, sans câbles encombrants. Les performances sans fil sont précises, offrant une transmission audio claire et sans décalage. Avec six canaux disponibles, il est possible d'utiliser plusieurs systèmes U3 en même temps.

Léger et portable, idéal pour les DJs lors d’une ceremonie laïque ou avec n’importe quelle installation sans fil.

En conclusion, malgré la contrainte de bande de fréquence, je recommande le Xvive U3D Dual pour les prestataires de mariages ou autres événements qui souhaitent une solution sans fil de qualité tout en tenant compte des éventuelles interférences logicielles.

Ich bin Hobby-DJ und habe die XVive am letzten Wochenende testen können. Super einfache Installation von Sender und Empfänger mit Kanalsteuerung im Stereo-Betrieb. Beste Übertragungsqualität trotz vieler Handys im Umfeld. Die Geräte hielten über eine Laufzeit von fast 8 Stunden. Tolles Produkt zu einem annehmbaren Preis.
