Wireless system meets tuner

The XVive P58 digital guitar pedal tuner comprises a smart combination of digital wireless system and chromatic tuner housed in a robust pedal unit. The receiver not only serves as a guitar signal receiver, but also as a chromatic tuner with a clearly legible display. The transmitter features a lithium battery and works equally well with both active and passive guitars and basses. The P58 is particularly well suited to live performances, eliminating the hassle of plugging and unplugging cables, while the tuner is always ready for use and does not require a separate tuning pedal. With six selectable wireless channels, the system is also suitable for multi-player setups and ensures interference-free transmission by operating in the 5.8GHz band. Anyone looking for an all-in-one solution for stage, rehearsal, or studio will therefore find genuine practicality in a smart hybrid format here.

XVive P58 Digital Guitar Pedal Tuner

Two functions, one system

The XVive P58 system combines two key functions: A digital wireless system for guitar and bass, and a chromatic pedal tuner. The receiver integrates into the signal chain just like a traditional stompbox tuner and is powered by a 12V power supply. The transmitter in turn plugs directly into the instrument, is rechargeable via the USB-C port, and transmits the signal with less than 5ms latency and a dynamic range of 110dB. Once activated, the system scans automatically for the best available wireless frequency in the 5.8GHz band and selects one of six possible channels. Operation is intentionally simple: Channel selection is done via a switch on the transmitter, and the tuner is activated using the footswitch on the receiver. The illuminated display provides access to a fast, precise tuning function with signal muting, making it ideal for minimalists who prefer to work with a low-effort, cable-free setup.

For minimalists and pragmatists

The XVive P58 digital pedal tuner is aimed at guitarists and bassists who want to streamline their setup without compromising on reliability. In particular, live musicians and rehearsal room enthusiasts will benefit from the combined wireless system and tuner in pedal format, which offers a space-saving, cable-minimising solution. The automatic frequency search and six selectable channels also make it an interesting prospect for bands using multiple wireless systems. The wireless connection remains stable, and transparent sound is maintained, even when instruments with active pickups are involved. Beginners with no experience of wireless technology will appreciate its ease of use, while advanced players will see the XVive P58 as a smart backup or travel-friendly solution.

About XVive Audio

Xvive Audio officially entered the market in 2012 with its compact U2 wireless guitar system. Since then, the company has also been involved in the development of wireless microphone technology. Its catalogue also includes effects pedals, such as the Signature Series, which were developed in partnership with guitarist Thomas Blug. The products are designed by an American team, based in Pasadena, California, which is composed of musicians and engineers and draws on decades of professional experience. Its lead designer, Howard Davies, was previously employed at Electro Harmonix and Pigtronix, among others. Xvive Audio’s goal is to create products that deliver exceptional sound and build quality, while remaining affordable for any musician.

A powerful duo

The XVive P58 system is right at home wherever efficiency is key and tangled cables are unwelcome – from rehearsals, to live sets on smaller venue stages, and on the road. On pedalboards, the system replaces two devices – the traditional tuner and separate wireless system – providing the ideal solution for guitarists and bassists who have limited space available or frequently reconfigure their setup. Thanks to its 5.8GHz technology, the system always operates reliably, even in environments with a high wireless frequency density such as festivals or setups involving multiple bands. The P58 is equally at home in the home studio, enabling quick sound checks, wireless recording setups, or providing a flexible workaround for managing complex cable arrangements. Finally, the XVive P58 is ideal as a travel rig or for spontaneous jam sessions where mobility and simplicity are key.

A solid purchase

I have been using cheap Chinese 5.8ghz guitar buds for my acoustic guitar. I have been very happy with them, working absolutely fine but I needed to charge them after each gigs, which could be tiresome and if you forget to charge... you are in a pickle. So I started looking at a pedal solution where I didn't have to charge both emitter & receiver all the time.
My first choice was the Boss WL50 but it's 2.4ghz, no channel scans, and the emitter is protruding quite a bit, I was afraid of "snapping"it. Plus I wasn't sure it would work with my acoustic guitar. A friend of mine has the WL60 and hates it... what was I to do...So I kept searching for the "perfect" solution, at least for me.
I had few "must have" on my list:
-a Pedal format,
-5.8ghz
-a plug in option in case the wireless fails
- USB-C
- channel scanning.

But nothing existed like this that was affordable (otherwise I would've picked the Shure Shure GLXD16+ but at €566...no thanks...). In my research, there was always a compromise. Either 2.4ghz in a pedal form or 5.8ghz in a mobile, bud type form. Clearly a gap in the market in my opinion.
And then, XVive came along with this solution : The P58!! (angels sing!)
A very solid pedal format with integrated Tuner (the screen is very big and clear), 5.8ghz with 6 possible channels scan, so you'll rarely use a crowded frequency. USB-C for fast and universal charging of the transmitter (yes I still have to charge one), the A58 mobile transmitter with channel scanning too. A jack input on the pedal, in case the wireless fails... all is here. All I wanted is here.
I haven't used it in live yet but soon, and I'll update my review after it. The only down for me is that it's a 12V pedal, not 9V like a "standard" pedal. It's not a big deal because most power bricks would accommodate for that but make sure you use the correct output or else use the provided power supply. For me it ticks all the boxes so far. We'll see how it behaves live. Thank you XVive for making this.
