The Warwick RockBass Streamer NT I 4 FL NTHP is an elegant natural beauty – a bass built for smooth, expressive playing, with a fretless fingerboard that lets bassists glide through their grooves with pinpoint intonation. At its heart is a neck-through maple construction, providing rich, long-lasting sustain; the alder body adds warmth and balance to the Streamer's tone, while still keeping things crisp and clear. The fingerboard is made from dark tigerstripe ebony, a wood whose hardness means the strings respond with extraordinary clarity. Every detail of this unique character is captured by the Streamer FL's pair of active pickups, one J-style and one P-style. Combined with the blend dial and active two-band EQ, musicians have complete control, not just cutting the lows and highs, but actively boosting them to dial in the perfect tone.

Long scale for power, two-piece bridge for stability

Even just looking at the specs, the Warwick RB Streamer NT I 4 FL NTHP has clearly been built for a life of hard work. With its 864mm long-scale neck, it delivers tight, punchy tone and precision across the board. This is complemented by the 38.5mm nut width, which makes fast, clean runs a breeze. As it should be on a fretless instrument, the fingerboard has clearly been finished with particular care. Up top, there's Warwick's own Just-a-Nut III, a fully adjustable nut made from ultra-durable synthetic tedur. Down at the bridge, there's the two-piece Warwick 3D Bridge, which gives bassists endless scope to tweak their action and intonation. Working together, nut and bridge keep the Streamer's tuning rock-solid.

Excellent modern sounding fretless

The woods (esp ebony fingerboard) are excellent as is the construction. The pickups and preamp are top notch. The bass is light, well balanced and resonant. The neck is really skinny and comfortable. The bass plays well and sounds great; excellent sustain, bright with awesome midrange growl. MEC pick-up are surprisingly warm and uncompressed sounding for active and are really punchy. The truss rod and free tool are really easy to use, the free strap locks are a nice bonus and the adjustable nut is genius.

The finish is high gloss and very thick and doesn't look as nice close up as the satin finish on the higher end instruments. Some people might not like the gloss finish on the neck. The body isn't as smoothly sculpted as the more expensive offering, it has some hard edges, but is still comfortable to play. Both are about what you'd expect for the price point.

The two piece bridge looks cool, but is over complicated and a pain to adjust.

The tuners are cheap and nasty. Disappointingly so for the price point.

All in all, sounds really good and plays well which is what really matters. Don't think you'll find anything better for the money.
