Premium woods with a transparent, natural finish give this unique instrument both its elegant appearance and its expressive timbre, with the low B string adding even more bottom end to the sound. And when needed, that sound can be amplified and shaped to taste thanks to the onboard pickup and the built-in preamp. Other highlights include the high-end hardware, a handy thumb rest, 24 nickel-silver frets, a generous cutaway, and a gig bag with tools included.

Exquisite ingredients

The top of an acoustic instrument is crucial in giving it a balanced sound: The Warwick Alien Deluxe has one made from solid AA sitka spruce, a top-tier choice. The neck is crafted from mahogany, while the back and sides are walnut, an extremely classy touch. Left-handed bassists have a full 24 frets at their disposal, while the wenge fingerboard is complemented by a bridge and thumb rest made from the same wood. The Deluxe 5 has a full-sized 34" scale length for a full-bodied sound, but a nut width of only 45mm – slim for a five-string bass – making it easy on the hands. High-quality chrome hardware, produced in-house, includes Warwick's signature adjustable nut and security locks system. And if this acoustic Alien's volume isn't quite enough, the built-in Sonicore piezo pickup and Presys Plus preamp, both from Fishman, will be happy to help.
