Save energy without skimping on power

Can the width of a spotlight's beam be changed in the middle of a show? With the DMX-controlled motorised zoom on the Varytec LED Theater Spot 250 MZ 3200K, it can be. Extremely powerful for this price point, this LED spotlight is designed to replace conventional lights in small and mid-sized venues. It's fitted with an energy-saving, warm white LED array, with a softly feathered beam that can both set the scene for individual artists and illuminate entire stage sets. The high colour rendering index provides particularly natural light, and thanks to its flexible mounting bracket, stage techs can not only suspend the 250 MZ but also tilt it at any angle – it only weighs 10.2kg and it's flexible when it comes to functionality too, with two different DMX connections and a mounting ring for barndoor flaps.

Zoom in on that

The low-noise Varytec LED Theater Spot 250 MZ 3200K can be operated using a DMX controller (sold separately) or simply the device's own menu buttons and rotary control. The fader on any DMX controller can be used to adjust the motorised zoom between 15° and 52°, and there are two further channels for dimming and strobe effects. With both three-pin and five-pin DMX inputs and outputs, supplemented by power twist inputs and outputs, the 250 MZ can be easily integrated into any setup's existing cabling. And those who prefer to keep it simple can operate the spotlight using the on-board menu, which they'll find contains only three sub-items: In addition to the DMX start address, the settings offer a variety of dimmer curves, as well as an automated function for dimming the display. The desired brightness of the spot itself is easy to adjust using the rotary control of this 250W LED spotlight, which has an impressive CRI value of >95 and a colour temperature of 3200k.

Professional features made easy

Lighting professionals can use their own favourite DMX controller to adjust the motorised zoom of the Varytec LED Theater Spot 250 MZ 3200K, allowing them to focus the light cone as a narrow spot during one scene, then illuminate the entire stage immediately afterwards. But many other users – staff at multifunctional venues, for instance – also stand to benefit from this flexibility. Newcomers to lighting technology who simply operate the spotlight from the menu can control the brightness of the spotlight with a flick of the wrist, without the need for further accessories. Whoever's using it, the locking power twist connections ensure reliable connections during live operation. In theatres, or for panel discussions and readings, the high colour rendering index enables people and objects to be illuminated naturally, with spots that can be individually adjusted using the barndoors. The low-noise operation of the powerful spotlight also makes it ideal for use in quiet environments.

About Varytec

Over the years, Thomann has greatly enriched its already extensive range of lighting products with its in-house brand Varytec. In addition to LED spotlights, theatre lighting, and moving lights, Varytec offers an arsenal of matching accessories. Tripods, cables, power distributors, and all kinds of other components are, like the lighting solutions themselves, manufactured by well-known names in the field. The firm's direct sales approach, which eliminates intermediate retailers, ensures that all of these products are nevertheless attractively priced. Varytec's range comprises well over 200 items, which will illuminate everything from home-streamer setups to photo studios, theatres, and concert halls.

One for almost everything

The motorised zoom of the Varytec LED Theater Spot 250 MZ 3200K spotlight is a great feature for lighting theatre stages – but that's not all. For concerts, it can be used to set up the stage for both a solo supporting artist and band headlining afterwards. This model can also be used to illuminate both an entire smaller venue or a medium-sized stage, especially as the barndoors included as standard can be used to contour the softly feathered light beam as necessary. As the light only requires three DMX channels, a small DMX controller is all that's needed to use the zoom. A safety cable is sold separately so that the spot can be properly suspended while still adhering to all relevant regulations. And if the venue doesn't have a truss system, the spotlight can simply be screwed onto a light stand, which is also available as an accessory.
