The Thorn Magma comes in a sturdy metal housing measuring 94x123.5x53mm – about the size of two standard pedals. Its control layout features controls for Gain, Volume and Damping, as well as a 3-band EQ. The parametric Mid Freq control provides added flexibility, enabling precise adjustment of the midrange frequency between 300Hz and 2kHz. It also features an adjustable gate to eliminate unwanted noise. The final element is the essential footswitch, used to activate or deactivate the Magma. When bypassed, the pedal uses a hardwired true bypass, ensuring the signal remains completely unaffected by the circuitry. The Thorn Magma can be powered with a standard 9V power supply, but it really comes to life at 18V, providing increased headroom and enhanced dynamic response.
