Velocity-sensitive and affordable

A keyboard like the Thomann SP-120 simply cannot be found cheaper anywhere else, making it the perfect point of entry into the world of keyboard instruments. It features velocity sensitivity and 73 lightly weighted keys, and despite the immensely affordable price, this compact piano is equipped with a sustain pedal and a sheet music holder. In addition to piano sounds, a number of other sounds and effects are also included, and the standard complement of connections also includes a headphone socket, in addition to which the integrated USB port means any MIDI or audio signals generated on this digital piano can be sent to a PC or laptop. The low overall weight of the instrument also makes it ideal for performances outside the bedroom studio, and because it can also run on batteries (as well as the mains adapter provided), it is easy to use outdoors too.

Accessible and beginner-friendly

The space above the 73 lightly weighted keys of the Thomann SP-120 doesn't just look tidy – it really is tidy. Framed by the two 20W loudspeakers, the clearly arranged controls are located in the centre above the keyboard, where, for example, one of the twelve tones can be selected, all of which ring out in 32-voice polyphony. The palette ranges from piano sounds to bass and guitar, and reverb and chorus can also be added; there is also built-in equaliser for further sound processing. All connections can be found on the rear of the instrument: Headphones, for example, can be connected to the 6.35mm jack socket, next to which are the USB interface, as well as sockets for the sustain pedal, a stereo line output, and the mains socket.

Perfect for young pianists

With the Thomann SP-120, it is easy to try out playing the piano for the first time. The price alone makes it the ideal starter instrument, and thanks to the integrated metronome, even young children can learn to maintain a tempo. Those who like to practise by ear can in turn access twelve stored demo pieces, with the tempo adjustable to the player's own learning level. Audio and MIDI data can be transferred to a computer for pianists who are taking the first steps in digital composition, perhaps even using editing software to correct and alter their work. Parents can also configure the instrument so that the built-in speakers are automatically muted as soon as headphones are plugged in.

About Thomann digital pianos

Thomann-brand instruments, which are exclusively built by renowned manufacturers, now constitute a large part of Thomann’s product range alongside numerous big-name brands. With unbeatable price-performance ratios, Thomann digital pianos are the obvious first choice for students and beginners – and others too. The technical features and uncompromising sound quality they offer are usually reserved for much more expensive instruments found in the professional market segment.

Makes music-making a pleasure

Once young musicians have taken their first steps and rehearsed their first songs, the Thomann SP-120 makes it easy to perform for family and friends, or even play together. Because this digital piano weighs just 6.2kg (under 14lbs), it can easily be transported to a private gig – although it would be wise to protect it with a case (sold separately). For a quick jam session, the Thomann SP-120 can be set up remarkably quickly, and even wirelessly when using batteries (for which six 1.5V D LR20 mono cells are required). To make sure the music sounds its best, it is advisable to make full use of the built-in two-band equaliser: For Rock music, adding a little more bass might do the trick, while synth sounds can benefit from a treble boost.
