Affordable, studio-quality condenser mic

The t.bone SC 600 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with two switchable polar patterns – cardioid and omnidirectional – built around a back-to-back arrangement of two gold-sputtered 1" diaphragms. The cardioid setting focuses on the source directly in front of the capsule, rejecting room reflections and off-axis noise; the omni setting captures sound from all directions equally, useful for room recording, ensemble capture, or any situation where the acoustic environment is part of the sound. A 100Hz high-pass filter at 6dB/octave reduces low-frequency rumble and handling noise, and the elastic shock mount keeps mechanical vibrations out of the signal path. A protective pouch is also included.

One capsule, two polar patterns

The SC 600's back-to-back dual diaphragm design is what makes the pattern switching possible – each diaphragm faces in the opposite direction, and the cardioid/omni selection determines how their outputs are combined. The frequency response runs from 30Hz to 20kHz, linear through the low and mid frequencies with a deliberate dip in the upper mids that prevents brightness from tipping into harshness – particularly useful in the omni setting where room reflections could otherwise accumulate. Self-noise is 8.7dB(A) in cardioid and 10.2dB(A) in omni – impressively low figures for a microphone at this price point, giving the SC 600 enough headroom to handle both quiet acoustic sources and loud instruments without noise floor intrusion. With a sensitivity of 13.9mV/Pa and an output impedance of 120 ohms, it connects cleanly to any standard mic preamp with 48V phantom power.

Great price, great sound

The SC 600 is aimed at home studio owners, project studio engineers, and content creators who want a versatile large-diaphragm condenser without the price of a boutique microphone. The dual-pattern design adds genuine utility – a single mic that covers focused vocal and instrument recording in cardioid and room or ensemble capture in omni is a practical advantage in a small studio where mic choices are limited. The trade-off is the absence of a pad switch, which means very high SPL sources above 132dB are outside its range – though few studio sources will reach that ceiling. Build quality is solid for the price bracket, with the metal housing and grille protecting the capsule in everyday studio use.

About the t.bone

Since 1994, the t.bone has been one of Thomann's in-house brands, and its name can be found on devices such as headphones, wireless systems, in-ear equipment, and various microphones and matching accessories. the t.bone products are made exclusively by renowned companies who also manufacture products for other well-known brands. This provides a clear advantage: Brand-quality products at very reasonable prices. And word gets around: One in seven Thomann customers has already bought at least one product from the t.bone.

A natural fit for the studio

In cardioid mode, the SC 600 suits lead vocals, acoustic guitar, woodwinds, and brass – the low self-noise makes it responsive to quiet sources, while the 132dB SPL ceiling handles loud instruments without distortion. Close placement activates the proximity effect, adding low-end warmth useful for broadcast voices and intimate vocal recordings; the high-pass filter manages that low-end build-up when it becomes excessive. In omni mode, the pattern suits room miking, piano, string ensembles, and any source where a natural, uncoloured capture of the full acoustic environment is the goal. The elastic shock mount handles use in a standard mic stand well; for location recording or more flexible situations where handling noise is a greater concern, an aftermarket suspension mount is worth considering.

Nice condenser for cheap

Nice mic for the price you can't go wrong.
I like it a lot on guitar amps and I used it on the kick out which on both cases it delivers very well. Did try it on vocals and it was okay but hard to say anything because the singers voice and style didn't really fit a condenser, a dynamic mic would be more appropriate for loud screams and yells. For 59 bucks absolutely not a waste of money but actually a really nice tool. Would buy one again when needed.

Light, cheap, high-quality. Don't look for something he can't do. it will be able to record anything if your hands grow from the right place) I would generally buy 10 of them for all occasions. and for vocals, and for recording guitars, acoustic instruments, and drums. but we use different microphones so that we can choose which sound to use. There are no bad microphones. There are incorrectly selected ones for the wrong purposes. Friends use them as a microphone for blogging and recording guitars. By the way, it is very small. It comes with a wonderful spider and a high-quality soft case.

This microphone works perfect for me (recording YouTube videos). Sound is crisp and ambient noise (not using it in studio environment) is in very acceptable levels.
When i was ordering it, i was under impression that this microphone is a bit bigger in size (like Behringer B1 Pro) but it is not. This is a smaller microphone but nevertheless it works just awesome for this price range. I am using it with PreSonus AudioBox and only self-noise i can notice is when i crank the levels up above 80% volume (which is really not needed when recording voice in close range).

I am super happy with it.
