A remarkably affordable vocal mic

The t.bone MB55 is a particularly budget-friendly microphone for transmitting and recording vocals and speech, and can also be used to pick up guitar amplifiers. This dynamic microphone has a supercardioid polar pattern so that background noise from other instruments is attenuated particularly well. If the microphone is momentarily not being used, it can be switched off directly via a switch, and thus muted. The practical hard rubber grip allows it to be held securely in either hand, and on top of this the package includes a microphone clamp and a 5m XLR-to-jack cable with which the t.bone MB55 can be connected to a mixing console or directly to an active loudspeaker.

Dynamic vocal and guitar miking

The black MB55 microphone from the t.bone uses a neodymium sound transducer that can handle a maximum sound pressure level of 138dB. This means that dynamic signals – such as entertainers who alternate between speaking loudly and softly – can be reproduced with considerable accuracy. With a frequency range of 20Hz to 12kHz, this microphone is ideal for speech and vocals, as well as all signals with a predominantly mid-range frequency – for example an electric guitar. If the mic is going to be out of use for a longer period of time during a performance, singers and musicians can simply mute themselves using the practical switch built into the microphone, suppressing any signals that the audience isn't supposed to hear.

Quick to install and connect

The t.bone MB55 can be firmly attached to a stand using the microphone clamp supplied; the stand can then be adjusted to the singer's desired height, or placed in front of a guitar amplifier. Either way, the microphone clamp enables precise alignment with the sound source, ensuring an optimum sound capture. Thanks to the XLR-to-jack adapter cable also included in the package, the MB55 can be connected directly to a mixer or loudspeaker system. Devices of this kind often have an equaliser, allowing the sound to be adjusted: One worthwhile alteration would be high-pass filter at around 80Hz, helping to protect the signal from unwanted handling noise. The MB55 can also be fitted with a wind shield – sold separately – for further protection against noise caused by wind, breathing, and plosives.

Goed om me te experimenteren

Een goedkope microfoon die doet wat hij moet doen. Ik gebruik hem om thuis wat met mijn zang (teksten) te experimenteren. Daarvoor is hij prima geschikt. Hij is minder goed voor gebruik on-the-road. Dan heb je een robuustere mic nodig die een qua gevoeligheid en frequentie curve daar beter op afgestemd is, maar vrijwel zeker ook een veelvoud van deze MB55 kost. Ik ben er tevreden over.

Top produkt voor die prijs was echt aangenasm verrast welke kwaliteit gekuid ernog uit komt.

Goedkope snelle microfoon, redelijk geluid, verwacht geen AKG of Sennheiser kwaliteit voor deze prijs, maar goed mee te werken in mijn ogen.
Deukt echter wel snel in aan voorzijde, en de groene rubberen ring (?) "floept" er steeds af.

Heel fijn voor klein gebruik. ik gebruik hem in mijn kamer met een kleine versterker erbij. Je moet wel echt goed recht in de microfoon zingen, anders vangt die het geluid niet op. Dit is te verwachten voor de prijs. Ziet er verder mooi uit.
