What a sound!

For my Synergy SYN-20IR Combo amp (I also just wrote a review on that) I needed to chose a module and I chose this Tone King Imperial MKII module. I was looking for a nice fat clean channel - so the drives on my pedalboard would be happy - and channel 2/clean of this module certainly delivers. However, I found that channel 3 - which I dialed in with some juicy crunch tweed tone - is also making me very happy and it too works great with my gain pedals! Sometimes I bit more kick/saturation/gain/volume is all you need and with this module, you got that option. You actually have 3 channels because channel 1 is the 'clean channel' that every Synergy module offers, but...I don't use it since I find it sterile sounding. If you need a system that delivers rich tube tones, but also has convenient featurs (e.g. xlr out) then the Synergy system cannot be beat. In my humble opinion ;-)

Ultimate clean and overdrive tones

The preamp module is used in SYN-2 preamp into the Synergy 50/50 poweramp, at the moment through Freyette load box and IR loader into Apollo interface. Both channels sound brilliant the rhythm is set to function as a clean channel, the lead as overdrive, Every control is really effective , the included tremolo sounds fantastic . Sounds great with pedals in front of it as well but also without them.i tried with humbuckers and single coil pickups. It’s rare to have such a well calibrated preamp module .
