String Swing CC34 Guitar Floor Stand BW

I was looking for a sturdy guitar stand that wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb. I eventually bought this string swing.

First: the boards are solid walnut — no Ikea wood to be found here! It's beautiful wood, too. The dark walnut fits perfectly in my apartment.

Assembly was pretty smooth. Just one thing: there's glue to add to a couple of screw holes. Don't add too much of it — it keeps on squeezing out if you add more than a dab. And it can be hard to clean if you don't wipe it off quickly.

It's very stable and the material feels like it won't damage the wood or lacquer of my instruments. It doesn't move in any way. I have complete trust that it will keep my guitars safe.

The stand can accommodate 6 electric guitars snugly. My PRS tremelo bar barely fits, but my strat trem bar is too tall — I have to put the strat at the front. I also have to put my Les Paul at the back because of the angle of the headstock. It works for me, but you have to make sure all of your guitars will fit!

Overall: it's a nice stand if you want something with more class. It's a compact stand, though, so big bodies, tall vibrato bars, and backward leaning headstocks might cause you some issues. It's also not exactly cheap... But then again you're paying for solid walnut!

Da meine Gitarren auch gerne im Wohnzimmer stehen, wollte ich einen schönen Ständer, der nicht so nach Plastik aussieht. Deshalb ist mir dieser Ständer ins Auge gefallen. Der Preis ist ziemlich hoch, aber komm schon, Design hat seinen Preis. Also bestellt.

Das Ding kam schnell, wie immer bei Thomann, und ich habe es direkt ausgepackt. Die Holzteile müssen verschraubt und verleimt werden. Da ich solche Sachen aber immer erst "trocken" zusammenbaue, habe ich den Ständer erst mal nur verschraubt. Das war auch eine gute Idee, denn ich habe das Ding gleich wieder auseinander gebaut und zurückgeschickt.

Die Fertigungstoleranzen sind nicht akzeptabel. Die Füsse liegen nicht plan auf, sondern schweben vorne ca 5mm über dem Boden und liegen dann nur hinten auf. "Ohh, das nimmt es aber jemand ganz genau!", könnte man sagen. Ja ,stimmt. Aber im Ernst, das Ding kostet 259 Euro und da erwarte ich schon, dass eine Firma in der Lage ist, 6 Bretter ordentlich zuzuschneiden und die Bohrlöcher richtig zu setzen. In Zeiten von CNC usw. ist das doch kein Problem, oder? Außerdem wird das Ding wahrscheinlich mit der Zeit instabil, da die ganze Last nur von ein paar Zentimetern im hinteren Teil des Fußes getragen wird und nicht vom ganzen Fuß. Da wird Verbindung der Bretter auf Dauer arbeiten.

Also Fotos gemacht, Mail an Thomann, Antwort "Ja, das ist ein Produktionsfehler" bekommen und einen neuen Ständer bestellt (die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt). Der nächste Ständer hatte genau das gleiche Problem. Also Geld zurück.

Ansonsten fand ich den Ständer optisch und vom Handling her gut. Leider stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht.

Eine Sache habe ich noch: Auf den Bildern von Thomann ist das Teil falsch zusammengebaut. Bei der Frontplatte sind die Schrauben in einer Bohrung versenkt und es sieht optisch etwas besser aus. Ansonsten ist Thomann der professionellste Onlineshop, den ich kenne.
