The Sony MDR-7506 is a pair of professional studio headphones that has gained an excellent reputation among sound engineers and DJs. The MDR-7506 model, which was initially launched in the early 90s as a successor to the renowned MDR-V6, marks another milestone in Sony's long-term success story of developing professional headphones with a user-friendly and durable design. The scope of delivery of the Sony MDR-7506 headphones also includes a pouch for secure transport and a 6.3mm jack adapter that allows them to be used with mixing consoles, turntables, and audio interfaces, for example.

Closed design and comfortable fit

The Sony MDR-7506 over-ear headphones feature closed earcups that completely cover the listener's ears and folding hinges that allow the earpieces to be folded up for compact storage. The MDR-7506 headphones are specially designed to provide a perfectly comfortable fit for all head sizes thanks to a headband that can be adjusted in eleven increments on each side and smoothly swivelling padded earcups that seamlessly adapt to the anatomical shape of the user's head as soon as they are put on. This pair of dynamic headphones comprises 40mm neodymium drivers with a power handling capacity of up to 1000mW, an extremely robust steel headband, and a flexible 1.2m single-sided spiral cable that sufficiently compensates for the tension created in the cord during use. In addition to an extremely low impedance of 63 ohms, the MDR-7506 headphones boast a frequency range that goes from a very low 10Hz all the way up to 20kHz.

Het geluid is erg gedefeniëerd en geeft een 'eerlijke' weergave van het hele spectrum, waardoor ik hem dan ook uitsluitend voor het mixen van opnames gebruik. De kabel kan heel ver uigerekt worden en is niet te zwaar, waardoor je gewon door je studio of kamer kan lopen zonder ze af te hoeven zetten. Al met al is het voor deze prijs een verassend goede studiokoptelefoon, maar als je hem ook wilt gebruiken om gewoon muziek mee te luisteren zou ik even verder kijken. Enige minpuntje voor mij is dat het draagcomfort tijdens langere sessies toch afneemt

Geweldige upgrade, nog nauwelijks last van mijn oren en kraakhelder geluid

Ik ben een DJ streamer en ik mix met een DDJ-400 met daarop aangesloten een Sennheiser HD25. Ik ben er na even achtergekomen dat ik on-ear headphones totaal niet fijn vind met een bril en flaporen, dus ik heb gekozen voor een over-ear model. Ik ga graag voor klassieke producten die de tand des tijds hebben doorstaan, en daar is de Sony MDR-7506 zeker een geweldige kandidaat voor. Je merkt aan alles dat dit een topkwaliteit headphone is. De verpakking, de kabel, de stevigheid van de koptelefoon zelf en natuurlijk het geluid. Kraakhelder, niet onnodig geboost zoals bij Beats headphones maar puur, helder geluid en mooie ronde klanken.

Ik kreeg na een uur of 4 dragen toch nog een beetje last van mijn oren, maar het is zóveel minder dan met on-ear headphones dat ik dat voor lief neem.

De levering vanuit Thomann was ook keurig! Ik heb slechts 1 hele dag hoeven wachten op mijn levering en toen stond UPS al voor de deur. Al met al een prima ervaring! Zeer tevreden.

Koptelefoon heeft goed geluid. Snoer heeft prima lengte voor als je soms moet switchen van plek.. geeft veel ruimte mee.
Enige nadeel.. hij gaat niet over de oren maar erop. Dat maakt het na een tijdje vervelend.
