I'll just bullet point this for ease of reading.

1. Incredible build quality.

2. Smoothest snare wire system you'll ever find, so slick it's like butter.

3. Shell & build quality is perfection, smooth bearing edges & shell design and beautifully finished inside and out.

4. Hardware is tasteful and is just pure Germany efficiency.

5. Snare is a 13" so it sounds best at medium to high tunings, you can really crank this thing as well and it still holds its tone so well as the tuning lugs are a work of genius. Some of the best in the business.

6. Has a great crisp bite and very sensitive snare response with Sonor's own hand made steel wires.

7. With the 6" depth you get that thickness and warmth that goes so well with the 13" bite and crack.

8. The GT Black finish screams just class.

9. Works superbly as a main snare or secondary snare, depending on what you need it for, very versatile.

10. Thomann delivered it flawlessly perfectly packaged and quickly & safely delivered to Australia !

Couldn't be happier, I recommend everyone to try this snare it is a great way to try a Sonor product and truly understand the hype.

Sonors SQ1 line is high end quality in every aspect and this snare proves it in every category.
Whoever consideres to get a 13” snare knows what they want from it - this snare delivers a beautiful higher end pitch and has a controlled but significant resonant overtone that matches its fundamental tone beautifully. As a 13” it obviously excels at higher tunings and this is what it’s built for… you can crank this thing up and it never loses its body thanks to 6” depth. I play it as a main snare because it gives you high tonal frequency where a 14” couldn’t get yet never loses its body. This drum is absolutely beautiful and perfectly handcrafted

Après avoir joué sur différentes caisses claires en 14# et parfois bien plus profondes ( Asba, Tama Starclassic, Ludwig Black beauty) à l’occasion d’un changement de matériel j’ai opté pour une Sonor SQ1 13x6 en complément d’un set jazz.
Cette Sonor est particulièrement bien finie et tous les réglages sont précis. C’est du matériel fait pour durer aucune crainte à avoir sur la tenue de l’accordage quelque soit l’usage qui en est fait.
Personnellement je l’accorde assez haut avec les tirants très peu serrés et j’arrive à avoir un son propre qui n’est pas pollué par le jeu sur les autres toms ou les vibrations engendrées par la basse.
Un seul petit reproche, l’absence d’une sourdine qui aurait été la bienvenue pour peaufiner les réglages comme c’est le cas sur certaines artistes séries.
Chacun ayant ses propres exigences il est important de bien cerner son besoin car un avis reste un avis, pour ma part je ne regrette pas mon choix.
