Road-ready vocal headset

The Shure SM35 TQG is a robust vocal headset microphone equipped with a condenser capsule. Unlike lightweight moderation headsets designed for discreet speech transmission, the SM35 TQG prioritises reliable vocal pickup, even during high-energy performances. Instead of a thin wire frame, it features a sturdy gooseneck that allows precise microphone positioning, which stays securely in place once adjusted. For outdoor performances, the included windshield features a secure locking mechanism, preventing it from coming loose during use. The SM35 comes with a four-pin TQG connector for seamless integration with Shure wireless transmitters. For wired operation with an XLR connection, the Shure RPM626 power adapter is required (sold separately).

Perfect for the stage

The Shure SM35 TQG is a vocal headset microphone designed specifically for live performance. Its sturdy construction and rugged materials ensure reliable performance on tour, effortlessly withstanding the rigours of stage use. Despite its sturdy build, the SM35 TQG remains lightweight at just 72 grams, offering a comfortable and secure fit with its padded headband. However, since the headband is not adjustable, trying it on beforehand is recommended. Designed with professional stage applications in mind, the SM35 TQG has a lower frequency limit of 45Hz, subtly rolling off the deepest bass frequencies in a way that enhances its powerful and open sound. With an impressive maximum sound pressure level of 153dB, it can handle even the most intense vocal performances without distortion. Additionally, the tight, unidirectional cardioid polar pattern provides excellent rejection of off-axis sound sources to prevent feedback and signal bleed onstage, whether in use in small clubs, large installations, or arena tours.

Stress-free in any location

The Shure SM35 TQG is the perfect vocal headset for musicians who need to sing while playing an instrument. Drummers, in particular, often struggle with awkward mic placement due to stands positioned between drums and cymbals. Guitarists singing backing vocals will enjoy greater mobility with the SM35 TQG, freeing them from the constraints of a fixed microphone stand. Simple to use and highly effective, the SM35 TQG's cardioid capsule offers excellent directionality, ensuring clear and focused sound even in challenging stage environments. This makes it a great option not just for musicians but also for comedians and solo entertainers who want reliable, hassle-free audio with minimal technical adjustments. No matter the venue, the SM35 TQG delivers consistent performance without adding extra stress to a live show.

About Shure

The American company Shure began developing microphones during the early 1930s and is one of the pioneers of the audio engineering sector. Models such as the 55 Unidyne – known to many as the "Elvis microphone" – and the SM57 and SM58 which appeared in the mid-1960s are still ubiquitous in live sound production today. They enjoy cult status among musicians and technicians alike. In the 1990s, Shure introduced the first wireless microphones and in-ear monitoring systems and became a market leader in this field. In addition to microphones, Shure offers a wide range of earphones and headphones for studio and live use, as well as various accessories.

Tired of being wired?

A wireless guitar transmitter may promise total freedom on stage, but for guitarists who sing, a fixed vocal mic can still be a restriction. The solution? The Shure SM35 headset. With sound quality that rivals wired vocal microphones, the SM35 TQG delivers clear, powerful vocals, ensuring seamless performance without limitations. It's a game-changer for singing keyboardists and drummers, freeing them from the constraints of a fixed mic stand. With the SM35, they can move naturally while playing and singing, making performances feel more fluid and engaging. And while it's designed for wireless use, it doesn't have to be – pair it with the RPM626 power adapter, and it can connect directly to a stage box or mixer for a wired setup.

Goede headset mic
Sander guitarlover 07.09.2025

Excellent sound and feedback resistance
Shawn 23.05.2017
I use this in a Theatre where we have a live band accompanying performers on stage. I do backing vocals and play guitar whilst sitting in the orchestra pit. The mic allows movement of the head while reading sheet music, without moving the mouth away from a boom mounted mic.

The only con, is that this is a bulky mic in comparison to lightweight unobtrusive head mics, but this was the best value and performance I could find that was not omni-directional.

The big pro is the cardioid polar pattern and resistance to feedback.

Solid build, Great noise cancelling, and neat and clear sound
Luca3x8 24.11.2021
I mostly deliver lectures online everyday, and I've been hunting for a solid mic that delivers clarity, noise cancelling with ease of use. This mic is what I was looking for. This mic is comfortable although a bit heavy due to the solid metal case around the head-mic. I've bought this item twice for spare, and because I'm very happy with it.
I use this together with the GoXLR. Before buying, remember that you need the "Shure RPM 626 adaptor" if you plan to feed the mic from a mixer with standard XLR input.
