The Sennheiser HD-25 is probably one of the most widely used headphones among professionals. Since Sennheiser brought the all-rounder onto the market in 1988, stages, clubs and FOH consoles can no longer be imagined without it. It owes this primarily to its robust, but extremely compact design and good shielding. Fun fact: It was precisely because of its good shielding that the HD-25 was the headphone of choice on board British Airways' Concorde aircraft. Not least this helped bring it closer to a much larger audience. Even today, these small DJ and studio headphones have indisputably maintained their pole position.

Small, light, loud

The advantages of the Sennheiser HD-25 are easy to explain: It combines good sound and high maximum volumes with an extremely practical and portable design. The 70 Ohm headphones are stable on the ears, but not so tight that they would be uncomfortable if they were worn for a long time. The cable is also interchangeable, allowing a typical defect in headphones to be easily remedied. The headband can be expanded and tightened to ensure a secure fit, even during wild club appearances, and the left earcup can be swiveled to enable comfortable listening with one ear.

The touring animal

The Sennheiser HD-25, originally designed as headphones for sound engineers, has now found a new calling: it is the ultimate DJ headphone. No wonder because it has everything a DJ needs. Very good shielding, comfortable fit even with long sets, high volume, long durability and, last but not least, compactness and low weight for on the go. It is clear that this is not only popular with DJs, so the HD-25 is a good choice for everyone who needs reliable sound on the go and in live conditions, while lasting for many years. The HD-25 doesn't give up that quickly.

About Sennheiser

In June 1945, Prof. Fritz Sennheiser founded the Wennebostel Laboratory, which initially produced measuring equipment. Commissioned by Siemens in 1945, the young company developed the MD-1 microphone, which was launched in 1946. After the development of further microphones, the company was renamed Sennheiser Electronic in 1958. Two years later, Sennheiser introduced the MD 421 dynamic microphone, which is still in production today and still held in high esteem by many sound engineers. Further groundbreaking developments, such as the HD 414 headphones and the MD 441 microphone classic, hugely enhanced the company’s international reputation, eventually making Sennheiser one of the leading manufacturers of microphone and headphone systems in the world.

Seconds of shielding, hours of partying

The subwoofers are working to the limit, the devices in the DJ booth move around on the table from vibration. You can’t even hear your own voice anymore. But the next track is already playing on the HD-25. The headphones are the retreat for the DJ to calmly select the pitch and starting point for the next transition. You are shielded for a few seconds, so that you can precisely mix the beat and then plunge back into the party. The Sennheiser HD-25 can withstand this for many hours in the evening without becoming uncomfortable or wearing out - even with increased volume levels.

Erg goed geluid, jammer van het comfort

Ik vind het geluid van deze koptelefoon top! Ik snap dat het wordt aangeraden binnen de DJ-scene. Echter was het comfort hetgene waarvoor ik hem heb terug moeten sturen. Ik draag zelf een bril en daardoor zit hij niet lekker on-ear. Ik ga kiezen voor een over-ear variant.

Geweldig voor als je achter de draai tafels staat

Als DJ sta je natuurlijk vaak achter draai tafels. En dit zijn mijn go-to headsets wanneer ik een setje moet draaien. Ook als ze vallen of je wilt even het publiek horen heerlijk in omgang en fijn om te dragen. En met die wilde avonturen nog nooit kapot gegaan.

Ik heb de Sennheiser HD 25 nu een tijdje en ik moet zeggen: wat een ding! Echt een hele stap vooruit vergeleken met mijn vorige koptelefoon (onbekend merk).
Wat me direct opviel toen ik hem voor het eerst ophad, was het geluid. Wauw, je hoort echt elk detail van de muziek. Zowel lage tonen als hoge tonen komen super goed door, een wereld van verschil met mijn vorige koptelefoon.
En over comfort gesproken, ik kan hem uren ophouden zonder last van mijn oren of hoofd te krijgen. Hij zit echt als gegoten. Geluiden van buitenaf worden goed dempt.
Het enige minpuntje vind ik de kabel. Die kan je eraf halen, wat aan de ene kant handig is, maar je krijgt er geen extra kabel, kussentjes of tasje bij.
Kortom, dikke aanrader!
