Niet tevreden

De D/G snaren hebben een te korte silk bij de brug. Daarom klinken de D en de G snaar erg dof. Ik heb het opgelost door een katoen shim onder de D/G snaren te leggen bij de zadels. De E en de A snaar zijn erg metalig van geluid, niet helemaal wat ik van een flatwound verwacht. Het verschil in toon tussen E/A en D/G is te opvallend om lekker te klinken. Misschien zijn ze nog niet helemaal ingelopen en verandert het nog. Ik heb ze er nu drie weken opliggen, en speel elke dag een uurtje.

Goede vervanger voor roundwound

Gemonteerd op mijn Roger Wates Signature Precision. Deze snaren geven een fijn glad gevoel, spelen wardt daardoor iets makkelijker. Geven minder fretnoise maar in combinatie met het Seymour Duncan SPB III wel veel hoog. Dat is zonder probleem terug te draaien met de toonknop. Duidelijke kleurcodering op het baleind is handig.

Klinkt lekker old school op mijn p bas , maar vind het gevoel toch iets te strak, setje dunner besteld en daar ben ik blij mee!

Great strings with a classic sound!

These strings aren't for everyone but personally I absolutely love them! If you're into British 60s/70s rock there's a good chance the bass player in your favourite band used these strings. They really SCREAM 70s British rock!

They do take some time to break in though, more than most other strings I've tried. The also break in very unevenly across the strings. And weirdly, the D+G lose that "new string" clank a lot sooner than the E+A. The lower strings actually stay clanky longer than the higher strings. This is the opposite of every other strings I've used. Really weird.

Once they've settled in they will be very smooth but still slightly brighter than most flatwounds. The lows won't be as thumpy as the typical old school flatwound. The mids... are just GORGEOUS! These strings have the most beautiful mids in any strings I've ever used!

The only con is that they can be really fatiguing for the hands. Stay away from the thicker gauges unless you've got really strong hands!

Apart from that I can highly recommend these strings for anyone looking for a classic British rock sound. But stay away if you want a "modern" sound with lots of zing. That's not what these strings are about.
