Quality, simplicity, connectivity

Thanks to a combination of their years of experience and some intensive market research, QSC's design team has succeeded in developing a sound reinforcement system that sets itself apart from the status quo. The QSC KC 12 is an active three‑way column loudspeaker system that is more than just another product in the overflowing pro PA segment: It's a comprehensively optimised solution designed around real‑world user requirements. Contemporary column loudspeaker systems are often chosen predominantly based on their appearance – with users and manufacturers alike neglecting to ensure they can deliver truly accurate reproduction at high sound pressure levels. The QSC KC 12 takes an entirely different approach. Here, optimal acoustic performance and a refined aesthetic are given equal priority. At the core of the system is QSC's patented LEAF waveguide, first introduced in the company's active L‑Class line‑array loudspeakers: The results are both audible and visible. For once, it seems, cutting-edge technology can actually look good too.

QSC KC 12 Black, 3-way column speaker system

A professional problem-solver...

The QSC KC 12, operating as an active system with a Class D power amplifier, delivers a substantial 3000W output, split between the subwoofer at 2000W and the mid/high section at 1000W. This full-range column system is equipped with a 12" subwoofer, two 4" midrange drivers, and a 1" compression driver. The device provides three input options: There's a low-latency TWS Bluetooth connection combined with a 3.5mm stereo TRS jack, plus two XLR combo sockets (Mic/Line/Hi‑Z and Mic/Line/+48 V), each offering independently assignable presets for their respective XLR channels. On the rear panel, a multifunctional digital display enables users to manage the sound output and select a variety of functions, including global parametric EQ, subwoofer level, room effects and much more – this is all also accessible remotely using QSC'S Loudspeaker Control App.

...for elegant events

The QSC KC 12 Black is a synergy of understated elegance, professional sound quality, and the connectivity options contemporary events require. It's a compelling choice for everything from private functions and corporate gatherings to the typical day‑to‑day applications of gigging DJs. A clear advantage for professionals who rarely see the same setup twice is the system's range of deployment options: The KC 12 can be operated with or without a pole mount, making it equally straightforward to place on the floor, on a stage riser, or directly on stage; the distance between the subwoofer and the satellites can be adjusted. This makes it an all‑round solution for solo entertainers, musicians, bands, MCs, AV productions, and fixed installations. Further cementing its flexible accessibility is the fact that it can accept virtually any audio source – right down to the "could you play our favourite song" streamed from a smartphone.

About QSC

QSC was founded in California in 1968 and has since established itself as a global leader in the design and manufacture of professional audio system solutions. At QSC, everything - power amplifiers, loudspeakers, digital signal processing (DSP) and digital mixing consoles – is developed under the one roof. This results in products and systems whose features are perfectly matched to one another. QSC's expertise is also evident in its state-of-the-art production technology and quality control. Its products are manufactured both in China and in QSC's own facility, which covers more than 7,500 square meters in Costa Mesa, California.

QSC LEAF Waveguide

QSC's LEAF waveguide technology (Length‑Equalised Acoustic Flare) delivers uniform, controlled coverage of 145° horizontally and 35° vertically, ensuring impressive throw. This patented approach produces a wide, highly transparent sound field: First deployed by QSC in its line‑array speakers, the technology is now implemented in column systems such as the QSC KC 12. The waveguide functions as an acoustic impedance adaptor – the high impedance of the compression driver's exit is precisely matched to the low acoustic impedance of the external air load. This improves driver efficiency under acoustic load, enabling low crossover frequencies and supporting the high headroom and controlled directivity the system is designed to achieve. Conversely, the sub-band radiation is separate from the directional behaviour, because at low frequencies wavelengths are so large that the subwoofer radiates effectively as a point source.
