The Ortofon 2M Blue is a high-quality turntable cartridge that delivers a clean, balanced and transparent sound. The nude diamond stylus, with its fine elliptical cut, tracks the record's groove with great precision, and offers an unusually wide frequency response of 20Hz to 25kHz. Thanks to its moving magnet design, the 2M Blue is broadly compatible with standard MM phono preamplifiers. With careful maintenance, Ortofon estimates a service life of up to 1,000 hours without any noticeable loss of sound quality. A cleaning brush, headshell screws, and a screwdriver are included in the package.

About Ortofon

An easy upgrade from Red to Blue

In the spotlight: Nude diamonds

When a phono cartridge is described as featuring a nude diamond, this means the stylus is made from a single piece of diamond attached directly to the cantilever. Compared to a bonded diamond design – where only the tip is diamond and the rest of the stylus is metal – a nude diamond assembly has significantly lower mass. This reduced weight allows the stylus to follow the record groove with greater precision, resulting in more dynamic and detailed sound reproduction. The lower mass also helps minimise wear, both on the cartridge itself and on the vinyl.

Upgraded from ortofon om 10 to this 2m blue, I had read a lot of reviews about this cartridge so I thought I’d try for myself. I wasn’t disappointed, the sound reproduction is top notch, it’s like I’ve bought a whole new system.

Als Ersatz für ein AT110E auf einem Pioneer PL-10 im EInsatz. Passt perfekt und wertet den alten Plattendreher massiv auf. Montage an der Original Headshell problemlos mit den beigelegten Schrauben möglich. Klanglich sehr ausgewogen mit klaren, aber nicht nervenden Höhen sowie knackigen Bässen. Reagiert ziemlich unempfindlich auf Kratzer. Bin voll begeistert. :-)

en remplacement d'une Shure V15 III en " fin de carrière " cette 2M Blue donne un grave plus précis, moins touffu ;
les médiums semblent identiques à ma précédente cellule ;
les aigus sont par contre beaucoup plus détaillés, sans être agressifs ;
