The Tiny 3 Lite: A 4K giant
With the Tiny 3 Lite, Obsbot has expanded its PTZ gimbal camera family with an accessible variant of the Obsbot Tiny 3. At their core, both models are tiny webcams with some surprisingly sophisticated technology packed inside. A direct comparison quickly reveals one interesting detail, however: Despite its Lite branding, the Lite version is actually a little larger physically. Like its bigger sibling, it offers a maximum resolution of 4K, although it uses a slightly smaller 1/2" sensor. The Tiny 3 Lite also features the same integrated AI engine for automatic subject tracking. In practice, this means users can move freely in front of the camera, present products, or work at a whiteboard without constantly having to adjust framing and camera position manually. The Tiny 3 Lite can also locate and track the source of a voice, while supporting a range of hand gestures and voice commands.

Everything is integrated
The compact size of the Tiny 3 series shouldn't be underestimated. An extraordinary number of practical features have been packed into a very small space. The rapid autofocus system, for example, delivers sharp images even when objects are held close to the lens. At 4K resolution, the Obsbot Tiny 3 Lite records at up to 30fps, while those looking for 120fps can achieve that frame rate in Full HD 1080p. Setup requires no driver installation, although the camera's full potential only really becomes apparent through the Obsbot Center app, where pro-level image settings such as gamma values and white balance can be adjusted. AI tracking enables a wide range of tracking functions and runs entirely within the camera itself, requiring no processing power from the device it's connected to, unlike many comparable solutions.

Switch from business to the Switch
The Obsbot Tiny 3 Lite is aimed primarily at users looking for a versatile camera for their workspace, whether it's for business video calls or for creating content on YouTube and Twitch. With ISO values of up to 12800, it can continue to deliver good image quality even in less than ideally lit streaming stations. And like its larger sibling, the Obsbot Tiny 3, the Lite model also delivers Spatial Audio: Its built-in microphone array, consisting of one omnidirectional and two directional microphones, is already capable excellent sound quality with very little room ambience, even at distances of over a metre. For those wanting to upgrade their setup further, Obsbot also offers the optional VOX SE wireless lavalier microphone. The Tiny 3 Lite can also be connected to a Nintendo Switch 2 for video transmission.

From solo setups to multi-cam
The Obsbot Tiny 3 Lite functions primarily as a webcam. It performs well in low light, handles many tasks automatically, and remains intuitive to operate. Thanks to its ability to track subjects instantly, two or more units can also be incorporated into a multi-camera setup. For example, they can be controlled through the free OBS Studio software suite, as long as someone is handling live switching duties. Integrated gesture control also allows users to retain control over a wide range of settings when working as a solo creator. As requirements continue to grow, the Tiny ecosystem offers a range of expansion options: Up to two VOX microphones, a laser-pointer remote control, and deep compatibility with the Elgato Stream Deck can all be used to further develop and customise any creator's production workflow.
In the spotlight
AI Tracking 2.0
The most advanced AI tracking system in the Obsbot range, known as AI Tracking 2.0, was previously only available with the professional Tail 2 – now it's included in the Tiny 3 Lite as well. It detects and tracks people or objects directly on the camera's internal chip, without tying up PC resources. Obsbot Center, the free software hub, allows ambitious users to operate up to four Obsbot cameras simultaneously. The software also offers two operating modes: Lite for simplified access to core functions and Pro for the full range of settings and configuration options. The latter includes features such as precise tracking zones, saved preset positions, adjustable microphone characteristics, beautify filters, and a teleprompter.
