With its first-ever pair of headphones, the NDH 20, long-established German company Neumann presents a closed-back dynamic model with an over-ear design that is aimed at musicians, producers, and media creators. This model delivers a neutral, high-resolution sound that is ideal for signal analysis and effectively makes the Neumann NDH 20 a compact monitoring system for everyone who works with audio signals - from the recording studio to the FOH position and even outdoor recordings. In addition, the Neumann NDH 20's robust construction and high level of wearing comfort mean that this model's price-performance ratio is also on a par with its impressively high-quality sound across the entire frequency spectrum.

Top-notch in every respect

The Neumann NDH 20 combines a tasteful design with high-quality workmanship and features foldable ear cups that allow easy transportation and space-saving storage. The scope of delivery additionally includes two detachable cables (a longer coiled one and a shorter straight one) with locking 6.35mm jack connectors, together with a 3.5mm mini-jack adapter and a fabric carrying pouch. The high level of wearing comfort mentioned above is thanks not least to the memory foam ear cushions, which are covered with soft velour and mounted on an adjustable, ratcheted headband. The NDH 20 features powerful 38mm drivers that were developed in-house by Neumann and deliver impressive volume levels, and the model's closed-back design ensures a surprisingly good degree of external sound isolation.

A tool for analytical work

Another advantage of their closed-back design is that the Neumann NDH 20 headphones are equally at home in the mixing room and in the recording room, while the headphones' excellent bi-directional noise isolation also makes them a good solution for use in the rehearsal room, FOH position, behind the stage, on film sets, and for outdoor recordings. As mentioned above, the NDH 20's sound is neutral and finely detailed, with a deep bass response and a frequency spectrum that goes all the way up to 30kHz, all while keeping the low end well defined. In terms of midrange response, the NDH 20 remains free of colouration, allowing the user to find the strengths and weaknesses in their mix, while the treble response is attuned to be understated but at the same time well-rounded and precise.

About Neumann

Georg Neumann GmbH was founded in Berlin in 1928 - and is certainly one of the most famous brands of microphones in the world. However, this is not the company's only sphere of activity. For many years, the versatile inventor and pioneer Georg Neumann was also involved with vinyl record cutting machines and the development of rechargeable batteries. The technology he developed is still the basis for this now crucial and rapidly expanding market. What is more, for many years the company built highly personalised sound control systems for broadcast studios/theatres and concert halls, and for several years also studio monitors. I hated waiting for my delivery to come early I couldn’t wait so I kept calling and texting thomann for my delivery and when it came i was working “SHIT”. I ran home and feel my NDH 20 this my first Neumann gear I own but can’t wait to get that NDH 30 The Sound It’s just or almost to a studio monitor wow
