Catch the buzz
I bought this flute on the advice of a Recorder tutor who obviously knows her business.
The large holes are a great benefit to my playing because they do not forgive sloppy technique. Going from the Dream Flute to a Baroque recorder with a narrow windway and smaller holes is like moving from an organ to a piano. The piano (like the Baroque recorder) forgives a multitude of technical "sins"; this Dream Flute does not.
The buzz I am feeling in my fingers when covering the holes is haptic feedback, reinforcing good technique in real time.
Paradoxically, I find it both satisfying and addicting to play the Dream Flute.
