Professional pedal, tonally superior

I'm a touring musician, been playin guitar for living for more than 15 years and that's a pedal that I really love.
I have owned dozens of different pedals and at the moment have at least 5 different drive pedals in my pedalboard for various styles and sounds and Mad Profersor Royal Blue is the keeper!
Very organic sound, takes well humbucers as well as single-coils. Very versatile and touch sensitive.
Like the way it responds, like the way it sounds. It is definitely different from the others (that's the point why I bought it), but suits well to the mix.
I play it alone or combined with other overdrive/distortion pedals - works great.

I recommend to order it and hear the sound yourself. You might like it and don't want to send it back. That happened with me :)

This is a Perfect always on dirt pedal wich can get very clean With a light touch and a little volume adjustment. Does not push like a tubescreamer in the mids and feels "free" to play.
If you are a dynamic player this will be Perfect.

Sounds kinda dumblish through my modded vibrolux.
Through my 2204 head it really sings.

Pros - great price, transparent, very dynamic, does never sound weak.

i Only miss a mid (boost) knob on this to make it suuuuper versatile :)

Paired with the little green wonder its perfect.

My main always on pedal !!!!!

This pedal is so dynamic to your picking, that stays always on, on my giggs !! The bottom end is huge and finding the sweet spot of bass and treble settings will lead your tone to pro levels !!!

I use every knob to the left side, less than 12 o'clock because there your mids shine across with low end and highs !!!

I use other gain stages before this pedal if i want a different type of drive and a booster after this when i need to cut through a little bit more... One of my favourite drive pedals !!!

I’ve never owned an overdrive before, and plugging in the Royal Blue was a jaw-drop moment. My Orange amp has never sounded this good, the tone came alive in a way I honestly didn’t expect. The Royal Blue feels incredibly dynamic and touch-sensitive: it responds beautifully to picking strength, bends, and vibrato, making it feel like an extension of my hands rather than just another pedal.

Stacked with reverb and compressor it sounds lush and musical, but even on its own, the overdrive is rich, harmonically complex, and never harsh. Compared to distortion pedals I’ve tried, this has way more character and nuance. it’s ludicrously good with everything set at moderate levels, and you can push it hard without it ever losing clarity.

This pedal has genuinely re-inspired me to play more. If you’re looking for an overdrive that amplifies the soul of your playing rather than just covering it in grit, the Royal Blue is a perfect choice.
