The Mackie Thump 15v4/18Sv4 Power Bundle not only provides two powerful top speakers; in this configuration, it also includes two matching subwoofers along with all the accessories necessary to put them to immediate use. The result is a fully integrated sound system that combines high sound pressure levels, clear reproduction, and a noticeably extended low end straight out of the box. Mackie's SoundCheck DSP prepares the signal with a range of practical features and voicing presets, allowing the system to be quickly adapted to many typical applications. Compared to previous Thump models, the v4 generation offers improved bass performance and additional features for flexible live use. Despite their output, the top units remain easy to transport thanks to their robust yet lightweight composite enclosures and solid metal handles, while the subwoofers provide a stable base for the included distance poles.

Precisely matched

With their 18" woofers, the subwoofers in this bundle reach down to 28Hz, delivering an extended bass foundation with real punch and added depth. In combination with the two tops, Mackie's precisely tuned crossover settings and dedicated high-pass outputs ensure the audio signal is divided up perfectly. This coordinated split means the subwoofers can handle the low frequencies they were built for, while also improving the tops' clarity and projection in the mid and high frequencies. The 15v4 speakers are powered by 1400W Class D amplifiers and reach a maximum sound pressure level of 130dB, while the subwoofers deliver up to 132dB, providing sufficient headroom for mid-sized to larger setups. The result is a powerful system that combines a clean, well-balanced frequency response with plenty of output.

At the touch of a button

The versatile DSP of the Thump 15v4 tops remains fully functional even when used with the 18Sv4 subwoofers. The voicing modes are still very effective: Live mode emphasises the midrange to improve speech intelligibility, while DJ mode adds extra weight to the low end – working together with the subwoofers to deliver a punchy yet precise sound. Features such as the feedback eliminator and music ducking also remain relevant in this expanded setup, for example in presentations or spoken applications (monitor use is typically less relevant in a system built around two full subwoofers). Combined with the clearly structured signal routing via the subs, this results in a system that can be adapted quickly and easily to typical live, DJ and event applications – from club gigs through to larger indoor and outdoor events.

About Mackie

In 1988 Greg Mackie, already a successful co-founder of a pro audio company, founded Mackie Designs Inc. with the goal of producing affordable, high-quality mixers. The company's first official product, the LM-1602 line mixer, was initially produced within the four walls of his home. As sales figures were encouraging, its successor model CR-1604 soon followed - and in 1991 the company finally moved into its first proper production facility. The combination of reliable quality and low prices quickly brought the company enormous success, so that by 1995 Mackie had already sold 100,000 products. In 2003, the company was renamed LOUD Audio, LLC so that there is no longer any confusion between the Mackie brand and its former parent company of the same name.
