Auto-Standby function ruins the quality of the speakers

Fine speakers for this budget. They look good, and the sound is decent for this budget.

The only (major!) downside is that these speakers have an auto-standby function which automatically turns the speakers off after there hasn't been any sound for a while. But... It also seems to happen whenever there's soft sounds happening. Then it only turns on again when something loud occurs.

This makes the speakers absolutely useless to me, and unless this function can be disabled I'm afraid I'm going to have to buy other speakers...
