A gimmick that backs up a great sound

While using the same technology that old VCR's and HIFI used for their screens as vacuum tube oscillators does strike me as a gimmick, I have to say it does sound really good: It's like a 303 that doesn't loses it's bottom end when you crank open the resonance. It trades a bit of the chirpiness for a low growl and rumble.

If you're looking for a 303 alike that can actually give a subwoofer a workout, this is the one. I would even say that this Volca is the one to get if you just want to try any one that looks cool enough.
