In the air tonight

Manufactured by the renowned tripod maker König & Meyer, the K&M 21302 combines two versatile functions: It allows speakers to be cranked to adjustable heights and features a standard threaded socket for attaching a light truss. Built from steel, the K&M 21302 impresses with its high load capacity, while its all-black design seamlessly blends into almost any environment and complements black speakers perfectly. Designed for long-term use, the stand reflects König & Meyer's commitment to sustainability, with spare parts readily available when needed. True to K&M standards, the crank stand is user-friendly and can be operated by a single person.

Double the functionality

The steel stand, reinforced with plastic connecting elements and finished with a black powder-coated surface, supports loads of up to 40kg. Its three-legged base spans a footprint of 1150mm, while the height – adjustable from 1385 to 2180mm – is easily set using a crank, an autolock locking system, and a safety screw. With a net weight of 7.65 kg, the stand is both sturdy and manageable. At the top of the extension tube sits a 35mm speaker mount featuring an integrated, pressed-in M10 threaded bushing, suitable for attaching both speakers and crossbars. Before first use, simply insert the M8 clamping screws and the foot clamp, then place the load onto the stand. Loosen the crankcase clamping screw, turn the crank clockwise to reach the desired height, tighten the screw again – and the show can begin.

Proven professional quality

Professional users and beginners alike can rely on the K&M 21302, which is engineered for a service life of at least ten years and meets the rigorous standards of the 2006/42/EC Machinery Directive, the DIN 56950-3 standards for event technology and mechanical equipment, and EN ISO 12100. Designed to provide a stable and secure base, the K&M 21302 serves lighting technicians and sound engineers with equal dependability. For gala organisers and restaurateurs hosting events on delicate wooden floors, K&M offers replacement floor protectors, while open-air event planners benefit from a tripod tested for both indoor and outdoor use. Touring bands will appreciate the compact design, with the stand measuring just 1170mm in length, and technical service providers can easily guide clients with a quick-start manual conveniently stored in the clamp shell on the centre bar.

About K&M

Founded in 1949, König & Meyer (K&M) initially produced music stands and measuring tools. Just two years later, the range was expanded to include instrument stands and microphone tripods, which are still the core business of the manufacturer today – and are still manufactured in their facilities in Wertheim, Germany. K&M also produces musicians' stools, stands for speakers, monitors, and lighting, and a range of accessories for mobile devices, such as tablet mounts. To satisfy the company's own exacting standards, even the individual metal and plastic components continue to be manufactured primarily in the company's factory in Wertheim, with particular emphasis placed on environmentally friendly and sustainable production.

Sustainably beautiful

If the speakers or lighting trusses are light enough, which is often the case in smaller spaces, the stand can be set up effortlessly by just one person, blending into any environment with its black finish and fitting almost all speaker types. For readings or more intimate events, the lowest height setting is ideal, while concerts call for raised speakers to reach standing or dancing audiences, and on small stages or performance areas close to the act, the safety screw adds an extra layer of stability. To handle uneven floors, stairs, steps or slopes, the K&M 21445 levelling adapter ensures balance, while several transport bags are available for tour buses, with the K&M 21316 Select model offering standout durability for frequent use.

Handige slinger

Het statief zelf is wat zwaarder dan een statief zonder slinger. Staat tegenover dat je lijvige speakers zonder veel moeite de hoogte in krijgt.
Goed stabiel, stevig gebouwd. Voelt betrouwbaar in de praktijk.

Dangerous design flaw
Anoniem 10.02.2017
I have been using these stands with no problems since March 2015. I use them about 3-4 nights a week as a gigging musician. However, last Thursday night I set them up at a venue as per usual when one of them collapsed with a speaker on top of it. It narrowly missed me and also narrowly missed some customers. It could have been quite serious and it was only luck, and luck alone, that stopped it from being serious.

I immediately inspected both stands and found that the small screws that hold the 3 minor bars on the bottom of the stand to the actual legs themselves were all loose and ready to fall out. In my case, one did fall out and the stand collapsed with the speaker on top of it,. On checking the second stand the problem was repeated. Loose screws. This is a serious design flaw and surely, rather than screws, bolts should be used to stop this from happening?

All in all, the stands are strong and sturdy, but this flaw makes them wholly unsuitable to be used in public places where they are clearly a potential hazard. I'm not at all impressed by this and would never recommend them to another user.

B
Excellent Value
Brian102 18.10.2013
Just bought this, have only used twice so far, and only used as a lighting stand. Breaks down to a very compact tidy unit. Not to heavy but the main thin is it feels really sturdy and not cheap like some wind up stands. All in all seems like a great stand and excellent value for money!!!
